Hey guys. I had this cool thought of moving overseas, but not sure where to go. For some reason i like the idea of the US, but dunno about some other options.
I can't seem to find very much actual info on the 'Green Card,' and can anyone tell me how long it is valid for if i get one?
Thanks.

Move to Canada, we don't need those silly green cards. Also, we have we have colour coded money instead of the monochromatic American greenbacks so your learning curve with currency will be shorter.

What are you talking aboot, eh? Move to Canada, if anywhere. Though why you'd want to leave Australia I have no idea.

Cool, thanks for the link, i think it answers my question.
Yeah, i think Canada may be the way to go...not sure yet. All still a hypothetical, but getting my options.
The reason i want to leave, is because IT pays such crap money here.

If you don't want to emigrate, there's the possibility of a work visa elsewhere. IT isn't doing that well in the United States, though.

as someone who has visited Canada in the winter, i say: Are you fuckin' nuts? Sure it's really nice early May to late September, but come winter you will freeze your ball sack off.

Not the shit we have here in NYC, but REAL SNOW. I wish I was living in Canada.
*sigh* I miss snow.
Have a very nice day.

As long as you don't run around in shorts during the winter you'll be fine. It's not that cold, and with a bit of global warming it'll be just dandy here in a couple years.

You can own them in Canada too, what do you think we use to hunt moose & bear?

You're weird.
If snow suddenly dissapeared this winter I would be dancing a happy dance of joy, knowing that I didn't have to trudge through feet of snow every morning or plow the car through another packet of white death or just plain get my damn socks wet ever again.

You're weird, how could you NOT like snow? Winter is just not complete without snow, snow is good. How am I suppose to throw snowballs at some chick's ass if there's no snow? How am I to have playfights with chicks in the snow in a snowless winter? Sure it's a pain to shovel, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Just for saying that I ought to snowjob you.

Melt infernal frozeness! Years of this garbage has made me bitter and tire of it; away snow, away! May I never have to plow you again.

If I was from Siberia, I would have jumped at the proposition. However, I'm from St. Petersburg and need that large body of water next to me during winter

I said big fun guns, not my Winchester Model 70. Fun to shoot, yes, exciting, no. However, an AR-15, THAT is a fun gun to shoot. IIRC, you can't have an AR-15 in Canada, can you? (Even though they are a legitimate varmint hunting, and with a little modification, big game hunting rifle)

Of course you can, AR-15's are perfectly legal in Canada if you have the proper licensing. They are classed as a restricted firearm which means you gotta fill out some forms and jump through hoops, but you can own them. Reference
here, and if it's not on these lists it's an unrestricted firearm meaning you can own them as long as you have a valid firearms certificate.

Move to Canada, it is easier to get there than the US. If you want to vist the US after that it is not that hard. IT work here is pretty much in bad shape, especially so in California. Nobody is going to sponsor an H1-B visa for you to work here.

[TOUR GUIDE BARBIE MODE] If you want the perfect variety of weather, live in one of the New England states. warm summers (the beaches in southeastern MA, and southern RI ae incredible) the leaves turn bright orange and red in the fall. Snow in the winter, but not too cold, and plenty of Skiing within short driving distance. The oldest cities in the US with historical sites going back hundreds of years. [/TOUR GUIDE BARBIE MODE]
