No everyone loves kittens, it's CATS who have pulicity problems. Just like everyone loves babies, it's two year olds and adolecents we can do without.

Joy...I'll remember that
And don't tell me there wasn't a time you weren't an adolescent, or that you magically sprang fourth to 30

That pic is of the railroad's logo, Chessie the Cat.
It was used in a stylized form to stand for teh C in Chessie System
on the Chessie's locos and rolling stock.
Chessie was bought out by CSX and one by one the old Chessie units
are being repainted in CSX Blue and Gray.

What the hell are trains cool for???

History, man. They are to United States what practical boats were to Germany. They may be ugly, noisy and taking up lots of room, but the Southern Pacific used to run not to far from my own house. Trains are still a functional and active part of our bulk transportation reality to this day, so no one rides them passenger anymore, they are still cool, I also like the new swiss engines that are being slowly introduced to the U.S. less pollution, but still very powerful.

Dumbshit, do you prefer semis? Maybe cargo ships in the Midwest, which everyone knows is crisscrossed with rivers and canals? How about carry bulk goods in airplanes, ton by ton?

Armored Trains are very cool, especially ones with reactive armor. And without railways, railway guns such as our big 800mm friend Gustav would not be possible.

My Great-Great-Great Grand Uncle Jim Turner (Yes, I am related to that other Turner on my mom's side) worked for the railroads way back when. My mom presently has his Watch, and Peacemaker. Like I said before, there's a lot of History in the Rails.

Well, the Armoured trains date from the 1870's, in Egypt, progressing onwards, used recently, as the mobile USSR nuke launchers.
Railway Arty was basically naval guns on rails, and the Big Bertha 31.5" gun was the biggest of them all.
And semis are tractor-trailers, the big trucks. Without trains, there'd be millions of them on the roads, and the smallest highway would be about 10 lanes.

Chessie wasn't bought out by CSX, CSX WAS Chessie. CSX is Chessie System, formed after the Conrail breakup when Chessie got half of Big Blue and Norfolk Southern got the other half.
