As I sit here posting this and carousing about SDnet and SCN, my room mate is sitting on the other side of the desk (playing some game, I think...seems as though 90% of his life involves Counter Strike...but that's a different story).

So anyways, a few minutes ago, I hear "Oh uh oh ah ah ah...I'm Stuck! Oh oh oooh YEAH! aaaaah..."

I mean, WTF?

MAybe he's playing a game as a sniper? When I play BF 1942 as a scout sometimes it can be minutes depending on my position when I don't get a target.i take it he is wearing headphones?

Yes, he had headphones on, and I think he was playing CS...or at least I HOPE he was playing CS...

(Speaking of, he was playing when I left to go to an AIAA, an hour and a half ago, and is STILL playing, he had been playing for about an hour before I left too. And odds are, he will be playing when I go to sleep...the boy is fricken obsessed with the game. I mean, he gets so into it, it is like nothing is going on outside of the game...)

That just sounds like me. Or nowadays, my friend. He's really good, and he knows it. He works, plays CS, sleeps just enough to be awake during work, then goes back to CS.

Oh don't kill him yet, have some fun first! You'll need a camera and a blowup doll, or even better an inflatable sheep. While the roomate is sleeping, place him in a compromising position with the doll or sheep and take some pictures, use hand lotion to create some strategically placed cumstains to further the effect. Distribute said pictures around and the roomate will soon be a laughingstock. C'mon people, learn how to have some fun first!

And they love themselves for it. Poor roommate. He must be getting so many cold shivers up his neck by now.

Be glad you don't have me for a roomate... My best friend is about to find that out next fall since we already signed up as roomates for that semester.

Let me put it this way: WSU is in the middle of nowhere (Pullman, WA), and it gets bloody hot during the summer and fall, the dorms have no AC and have single-pane windows (idiots), to make it worse, the dorms are not set up for modern times (everyone with a comp drawing half a KW of power, with 2 in each room) so you cannot even run a nuker and mini-fridge at once without popping a breaker, nevermind a window AC unit. (btw, you can have either a fridge or a nuker, but not both, if you chose the nuker you have to make sure no one else on your floor is using one before you use it. otherwise you have to get someone to reset the breakers) and you can't mount anything to the walls/cieling using tape or nails/tacks, so that leaves gravity and creativity for mounting things...

Enter my usual modus operandi: getting around the system...

I got a chiller water fountain thing (draws 203watts) from the metal yard, 6 solar panels @ 6 watts each, some aluminum angle iron and plating, a piece of corrugated plastic to mount the compressor and water tank framework one in the window (using both of the windows over the edges to hold it in), some hozes, a small radiator, a 10GPM pump, and a couple gallons of the green shit (antifreeze), and of course the usual charger circuits and 2 car batteries...

That should say it right there, but to add to it: I'm also extremely messy, which means there will probably be a visible line in the middle of the dorm room where my junk stops. I also keep very odd hours since I am a creature of the night.

The only benefits my friend has out of this: my web/FTP server at home (can't Kazaa at WSU, so we will be using remote desktop administration on my server to use it out of my house from 400 miles away), he will be in the only air-conditioned room in the whole dorm complex, and he gets someone to bitch at.

Yo Nathan if your roomie is freak'en you here's something that might quite him down.

When your roomie is sleeping take a whole checken neck stuff it in a condom cover it with fake blood put it on his chest then put some fake blood on his gorin.
That should quite him down.
