BattleField 1942!

So who here has gotten thier hands on the ACUTAL game and had a chance to play?

From my point of view the game, while a little on the bad side with a few issues, is worth your hard earned $40

Three main things that bug me about the game is the utter redicuilousness of grunt load outs

By Class

Scout
1 Sniper Rifle (Weight around 6 Pounds with Scope and bullets loaded)
1 Hand-gun plus Ammo, 3 Pounds
1 set of Bionecuers(Roughly 1 pound)
3 Pineapple Gernades(Roughy 1.5 pounds)
2 Clips of Backup Ammo .5 pounds
Total Weight 12 Pounds

Assault
1 Machine Gun(Either BAR or Earily AK) Roughly 12 Pounds loaded
1 Hand-gun plus ammo 3 pounds
3 Gernades 1.5 Pounds
4 Clips Backup Ammo(.5 pounds)
Total Weight 17 Pounds

Medic
1 Min Machine Gun(MP-40, Tompson) Rougly 8 Pounds loaded
1 Hand-gun plus ammo 3 pounds
3 Gernades 1.5 Pounds
4 Clips
1 Medic-o Bag

2 Pounds
Total Weight 14.5 Pounds

Engineer
1 Rifle 5 pounds
1 Hang-gun plus Ammo 3 pounds
4 Anti-tank mines, at 5 Pounds each makes 20 Pounds
4 TNT Charges plus Plunger and wiring roughly 15 pounds
Total Weight 43 pounds

Ok yes you heard right the *Sniper has a total of FIFTEEN Bullets on him....
Yep, Considering the avarage GOOD sniper avarges 1 Kill per Clip...(Sniping is harder than throwing darts after six beers..)
Makes Scouts all but Worthless as they run out of ammo so quick and Engineers get the same gun but with less zoom, I hardly ever see any Scouts out there

Anyone else have any thoughts on the game?

Waa huh? Umm are you sure thats BF 1942s fault there?

I've installed it on five computers so far and besides the *unviersal Sound problems on each of them there have been no crashs or werid shit like that
WTF is he running where a game can screw over his HD like that?

I refuse to play any game that has such an arcade explosion for the Tanks...

Tanks DO NOT leap up in the air 10 feet when they explode.......

Fuck that shit. If they can't figure out that tanks don't leap into the
air when they blow up the FIRST TIME AROUND....then they don't deserve

I seriously doubt BF1942 did that, perhaps his hard drive is already damaged.

I do have BF1942, and it's a good game. A couple of things that need to be improved. During the single player campaign, if your not VERY FUCKING fast at choosing your spawn point you will have to wait for the respawn at which time the friendly AI has taken all the vehicles and proceeds to use them badly.

I think Human players should get priority over vehicles, if you go up to a tank crewed by AI, the AI should get out and let you take over.

The AI needs many improvements, they get grouped en masse and don't seem very effective, this seems to only happen to your teams AI.....weird.

It's an okay game. Still prefer Tribes 2 for teamplay, all in all, but I enjoy it for what it is.

The main problem with BF 1942 online is that the only vehicle I will touch is one of the fighters or fighter/bombers, and there's always that ONE guy on your team who's just begging for death who seems to think there's nothing else to do but drive a APC into the planes as they spawn on the runway.

The drive has never had any problems before, or since he last reformatted and threw out BF 1942. In both cases the drive became corrupted within 3 hours of him installing the game. And I know several other people who also had their hard drives corrupted soon after installation.

Hey we are the elitist bastards who need to have the latest and greatest of everything and much of our damn money goes to drive the Tech advancement, Business where just fine with 2D only Vid cards and 300 mhtz CPUs but thanks to the drive of advancement the typical Business enjoys 1ghtz 32 Meg 3d Video Cards

Besides we are the ones driving the Push towards VR and the greatest revolition to ever hit the porn industry!
