Upcoming movie thread.

Hmmm, thought I'd make a thread to in general talk about new movies or movies about to come out.

Been seeing previews for House of the Dead, after how I heard they changed the plot I knew those in charge were dumbasses(not because they changed the plot, but what they changed it to) but now Jesus, I know the zombies are moving like that because it was an accually smarth though about having newer zombies not slow and falling apart like older ones, but the living shouldn't. Were tired of rehashed Matrix without explination. Jesus, it's like they took what annoyed me about the Resident Evil movie and multiplied it times ten.

On the other hand Kill Bill vol. 1 just keeps looking better and better and I really really want to see it but I can't explain why. Oh and asian school girl fighting with a ball and chain is hot.

Oh, also Tim Burton hired Johnny Deep as Willly Wonka in the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Yeah, I like Tim Burton movies generally, but god it's gonna take a lot to get me to accept that enough to watch the movie.

A Willy Wonka remake? What the hell is wrong with Tim Burton?
He's gone from being an entertaining, original filmaker to an almost hack-like re-hasher of other people's ideas! BOOOOOO! :x

Cold Mountain with Jude Law and Nicole Kidman.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't give a crap about this movie. So why do I post it? Because we just finished reding the book in my modern american literature class and I have an essay on it due tomorrow morning.

Not to disparage Tim Burton, but most of his very successful films (the Batman movies, Sleepy Hollow, Planet of the Apes, Mars Attacks! to a lesser extent) are basically rehashes of other people's work.

Kill Bill, very much looking forward to this one. Two of my favorite things; Quentin Tarantino movie, Production IG animation. I can't wait!

I wouldn't call Planet of the Apes especially successful. :)
I was thinking more along the the lines of Beetlejuice, A Nightmare Before Christmas, and Ed Wood, though. Those are what pops to mind when I think Tim Burton.

Monetarily it was pretty successful, as I recall, despite being a festering wound on the anus of the summer of 2001.

did anyone else think that the ending of planet of the apes really sucked?

The movie was already a gigantic piece of shit. The ending was just a piece of corn in it.

Well, let's all talk about the movies I'm probably going to see:

...

That is all. Thank you for your time. And yes, I probably won't be seeing anything anytime soon. I've only been in a movie theater once this year, after all. I would like to see one with friends, but it turns out I don't have any.

Yes, but it was the best of 2001's monkey movies. Yes, I know that there is a difference between monkeys and apes. I don't fucking care.

THE LAST SAMURAI

That movie looks freakin' good.

Cold Mountain

I'm just a Civil War nut in general

Matrix Revolutions

They better answer all the damn questions from Reloaded otherwise..

Last Samurai is looking very decent. I'm definately dragging Nitram to that one.

Other than that, there's nothing I'm really interested in until Matrix and Return of the King.

I'm looking forward to Matrix, RotK, KB, and Last Samurai. I might go see The Rundown, too.

That movie was awful anyway; I highly doubt that Burton could do any worse. He can shoot for "just as bad," but I don't think he has a prayer for making it worse than that.

Marilyn Manson was original to be cast in the role of Willy Wonka. I think Johnny Depp has it now.

That was just an internet rumor, Manson never was up for the job.
