A 65-year-old Italian mother superior in a convent in Chile captured two burglars even though one the robbers was armed with a revolver, press reports said today.

The incident occurred yesterday in Linares, in central Chile, at the Daughters of Saint Camilo Congregation.

Upon hearing noises, Fiorella Malccione, head of nuns at the convent, went to inspect the chicken coop and found several thieves inside it, La Segunda newspaper said.

A worker at the convent accompanied her, but the robbers threw stones and scared him off.

While the worker and other nuns ran for help, Malccione grabbed hold of two of the thieves, 17 and 18 years old, and did not let go of them until police arrived a few minutes later. The other robbers fled.

Nuns quoted by the paper said Malccione suffers from a heart condition and was in a state of nervous agitation after the incident.

Nobody's a match for an angry Catholic nun with a ruler in hand. 8)

I'll testify to THAT! Personal Experience...nun's got a lot of pent-up anger and they take it out on those younger than themselves....
