Woman eats 10 tonnes of dirt
October 13, 2003 - 1:46PM
A 78-year-old woman in northern China has eaten an estimated 10 tonnes of soil over the past 70 years, a news report said today.
Hao Fenglan, from Zhangwu county, Liaoning province, developed a taste for mud and dirt at the age of eight and says she feels physical discomfort if she does not eat a meal of dirt at least once every day.
The diet has done her little apparent harm and she is in good health, according to the South China Morning Post.
Barts old gag of getting Homer to eat "Chocolate" icecream would fail to impress this lady. Munch munch.

How the fuck can anyone "develop a taste" for mud?

I ate some dirt once, as a kid, and I hated it.
On a seperate note, my brother tried to eat a packet of cigarettes as a child.

Some places actually do eat dirt. Well, I think it's actually a form of clay. But it is considered actual food.
