Englishpatriotuk
Basically, after many years of sparring and debating with englishpatriotuk on yahoo, I have to the conclusion that the main premise of his argument seems to be the polite insult, or in many cases simply an outright insult, with very little substienance to his arguments. However, I am curious as to what the good denziens of SD.net think. I appreciate that there's quite a bit of material there, for for now, all I'm asking anyone to look at are the Digest Number 662 posts.[/url]

If he relies on ad hominems, then he isn't a good debater. I call people names, but I don't use names instead of arguements.

It said it couldn't find any messages by IRA2. But considering an smart Irish Republican wouldn't use such a fucking dumb name i doubt he's much good. I debate with people like that and their usual reply is "Your a dead Brit if i find you"

He's definately NOT Republican- he joined the IRA group for seemingly little other purpose than to be a nusiance, and has been full of Timsult style tactics.

Just the usual "You Brits are an illegal invasion army" or even worse, just mouthing off about Celtic results?

I'd catagorise him as a Unionist, except I don't think he lives in Northern Ireland, so a more accurate term would be Unionist supporter.
Different, more broad link

Ah so YOUR the republican. I'm a Unionist and i used to be a member of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland untill i became and athiest. Loyalists usually don't have a clue when debating. They why we're losing everthing when we should have had a settlement by now.

Heh, I wouldn't say I am a Republican, I am undecided... on the one hand, when I take a look at the history of the Troubles and the conflict, I can sympathise with Republicans and what they have been through, but you get nutcases who say 'lets go and blow up some streets in London!', or, shortly after September 11th, a call to follow Al Queda's footsteps and bomb all English cities, and I oppose them passionately. Bombings and shootings are not the answer and Republicans and Loyalists... I will argue against both groups if they decide to start blowing each other up again.

You you sympathise with republicans because they have a propaganda machine bought and paid for by Terrorists and The Vatican. The worst attrocities that ever took place in Northern Ireland have been caused by Republicans. I'm not saying either side are innocent, i've a patholigical hatred of all the paramilitaries, even the ones i'm related to. But it's hard for people to be objective when you've only ever really heard one side of the story. The Unionist party i used to work for have a very good web site and discussion board, though i've left the party due to death threats and i don't take part in them anymore.

I finally got those posts of his to come up. Frankly as an actual Unionist/Loyalist the man is an embarassment to out cause. His debating skills are basic and he has a WoI that is quite strong. His use ot stereotypes that the Republican movement publically shed years ago is quite sad. Sinn Fein has never and will never be a socialist movement. Real socialists usually object to extreem violence as a method of furthering their political goals. Sinn Fein/IRA will do anything and anyone (Barbra Brown) to furhter their self. Sinn Fein also tried to pin their flag on the Mandella band wagon and where told to F-Off by the South African Goverment.

I'm not going to get involved in a debate about propaganda now (A, because both sides get up to it, and B- it's 11pm and I have work tomorrow, FUCKING WORK!!! I HATE IT!). Suffice to say, I have done my best to understand both sides, and so when people like englishpatriotuk show up with arrogance, baiting and ad-homeins, it gets my goat up. They do no work to understand anything and won't see another point of view. englishpatriot would have failed history, that I know for sure.
