Any one know any? Stuff like the classic 'in the shadow of the valley of death' stuff. Also, stuff from the Koran, Hinduism, Greek myth, what-have-you.

My personal favourite:
Malachi 2:3 wrote:Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.
And the Pulp Fiction one:
Ezekiel 25:17 wrote:
And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
That's from the bad motherfucker translation of the Old Testament.
Seriously though, I always liked bits from Micah. 4:3-4 "He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken."
...and Micah 6:8 "What does the LORD require of you but to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Unusually level headed for the OT-era God.

As far as hinduism goes, the line "behold, I am become death, the destroyer of worlds" is from one of the vedas IIRC.
Numbers 23:24
Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem;Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon there feet, and their eyes shall consume away in there holes, and their tounge shall consume away in there mouth.
Proverbs 6:6 -8 Go to the ant ,thou sluggard;consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide,overseer,or ruler,
Provideth her meat in summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

LOL, even better when coming from "Wycliffe 1395"
Numbers23:24
Lo! the puple schal rise to gidere as a lionesse, and schal be reisid as a lioun; the lioun schal not reste, til he deuoure prey, and drynke the blood of hem that ben slayn.

I've always been found of this one
"And I looked, and beheld a pale horse:
and his name that sat on him was Death...
... and Hell followed with him."
Revelations 6:8
I use this in my sig over on Nuke Zone, and a couple of other places.

That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
-2 Chronicles 15:13
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
- Isaiah 45:7
And this amusing little ditty (emphasis mine):
Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.
- Habakkuk 2:16

Give me that old-time religion.
Hemlock, try the Skeptic's Annotated Bible (
here.) The "cruelty" section should be a goldmine if you're looking for stuff along the lines of Samuel L. Jackson's verse from Pulp Fiction.
