GAH! NO WAY!

I went last year for the Angels/Giants, only cuz I live twenty minutes away from ANaheim but this...

This was too great. That was the greatest game ever, my heart stopped.

I think its time to light a stogie and pay homage to the babe.

Ah, the hell with it. The Yankees aren't in my division and the Yankees weren't the team that knocked the Phillies out of the Wild Card race. So go Yankees.

Ugh, I feel so dirty now.

Insofar as I care about the series l all (which I don't), my sentiments exactly.

Although there's no doubt in my mind that the A's were the best team we ever had. It makes me think that I should root for them even now.

I see you're on the other side of the river. I'm up in Northwest Philly, specifically in Wyndmoor, which is the Chestnut Hill/Glenside area in case you don't know it.

That was the sweetest homer ever.

In fact, this was the best game in a long time.

Also note, Curse of the Bambino is strong as ever on the Sox.

Oh, what rot. The Curse had nothing to do with Boston's loss and everything to do with Grady Little rolling the dice and keeping Pedro Martinez in one inning too long. He should not have been sent out for the 8th.

I thought they played it smart and bringing Wakefield in was a stroke of genius and sadistic as he has OWNED the Yanks this series. What better more cinematic way to win this series than by a homerun blasted by a bench warmer? Swweeettttt.

The Cubs are just as cursed! A Cub-Red Sox World Series would end in a Yankees win.

Beware Yankees. The marlins shall spear you with their pointy protrusions, and render they offense inneffectual and pathetic. May Derek Jeter break out with a million festering herpetic leisions and Jason Giambi's arm fall off in rapid leprosy. I hate thee, Yankees! I SPIT my last breath at thee! From hell's heart I STAB at thee!
I wanted Boston to win just so the Yankees WOULDN'T. Pedro had a great game, though.
I hate Baseball.

Off to the Yankee Store across the street from work to buy some Yankee paraphenalia. 'For me?' you ask. No. For the most rabid Red Sox fan at our office. He has been such a turd this series (and one of my best freinds) so we decided to REALLY rub it in. A partner will have a meeting with him for about 20 minutes to distract him. The consiprators will then decorate his office with Yankee paraphanalia.

Hilarity ensues.

There was an article in the Inquirer a few years back about how we lost the A's. Every other multi-team town in the majors that lost a team lost the one that had historically been the worst (in New York's case, it lost the two weakest teams and kept only the Yankees). By all rights, the Phillies, who had been pratically a joke in the major leagues for most of their history, should have been the ones to go west. But Connie Mack's cheapskate ways caught up to him in the forties and the club collapsed--they had something like 9 consecutive last place finishes, just as the Phillies were starting to get respectable. So attendence dropped, new owners ended up buying the A's, and off they went to Kansas City, where they'd suffer 13 consecutive losing seasons before moving again to Oakland and becoming a great franchise again.

I'd root for the Wermacht if it was facing off against the Yankees.
