Clay Aikin sing the national anthem. and, I'm not much for baseball, (And I HATE the yanks), but his rendition of it was awesome. He didn't do all of that fucking note-jumping garbage so prevalent in R&B singer renditions of it. he just fucking sang his heart out, like it's supposed to be.

Does it annoy anyone else to hear fucking singers take a whole note and make it last ninety-five fucking measures and cram in forty-six notes per measure? and what did you think of his rendition? Scale of 1-10, I give it a solid 9. Simon cowl should be proud for discovering this talent. while he may not be the prettiest of all AI stars, he is certainly one of the most talented, IMHO. Later, all :)

Mariah Carey syndrome, it pisses the hell out of me. Listen people, you are not Mariah Carey, don't try to sing like her, it just makes you sound dumb. The sooner singers understand this the better off my ears will be. The other thing that annoys me is how some singers keep trying to sing as loud as they can for the entire song. You know...there's a reason we invented microphones, amps, and loudspeakers...it's so that people can still hear you when you sing softly...sheez....

Not only that, but what the fuck is it with this 'Mariah Carey' syndrome being so fucking popular right now? To make it in the pop business, you have to sing like that! Look at who is popular: Justin Timberlake, Beyonce' (what a fucking stupid name), etc, and they ALL sing like that! KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF! It's not so much 'Mariah Carey Syndrome' as it is 'Current Fad of the fucking times" syndrome. Did Elvis sing like that? No, of course not. Did the Beatles sing like that? NO! DID the Stones sing like that? I HATE THAT SHIT. STOP SINGING LIKE THAT!

Goddam, I can't wait until we move past this style of singing.

Aiken's version was pretty good. He stretched a few notes a little long and he had to wait for the planes to flyby near the end but he was still pretty good without getting overly creative with his rendition of the National Anthem.

I will say that I am getting a little sick of seeing these American Idol people all over the place though. :)
