Indiana Jones IV - Doable?

I was watching the extras DVD of the Indiana Jones Trilogy set and they were interviewing Harrison Ford as he is now talking about his experiences playing Indy.
I looked at him closely and began to wonder, how in the hell are they going to get this guy, pushing 60 I believe, to play Indy in a believable fashion?? I've heard rumors that they're setting it in the 50's with Indy retired, etc. That sounds interesting but will it work? Do we want to see a geriratric Indiana Jones fighting Communists?
I'm a little concerned on how they're going to pull this off and frankly I thought the Last Crusade was a perfect ending to the series.

Nah...It falls under the problem I had with Temple.
Indy vs Nazis is a theme I still enjoy, and also even with Temple it had that religous artifact finding...and what would the Soviets want to find?
And yes...Last Crusade was a fantastic ending(especially with tha bit about the dog)
It would take a helluva a lot of work and I just don't see it that well...course if they pull it off...I'll promptly eat my fedora.

Its Hollywood,if they can make an old guy fight highly trained marines (The Rock) they can make Indy fight commies.

Agreed. Last crusade was supposed to be Just that, IMHO. But, to harrison's credit, he looks damn good for pushing 60. He may just be able to pull it off. though he now lacks that swarthy, sun-burnt, cleft chin, hunk of masculine perfection look he had in the 80's and 90's. I think with good makeup, and good CG (What CAN'T they do with CG?) Look at Gimli....that is the most subtle, best use of CG and trick photography ever, IMHO.

Given Harrison Fords latest success or lack of with movies latley, I am somewhat fearful of a craptacular movie. But then again if it can be as good as T3 then I will certainly go see it.

Perhaps we will follow Henry Jones III on his escapades with his aging father, Henry Jr.

Ford said no. It won't show him having a son. It's in the 50s though. And Connery may appear in a few scenes. Or so the rumors say.
As for the way he looks, he didn't look that bad in Hollywood Homicide. Must be the movie makeup.
I agree that he looked pretty old in the interviews.

Yeah, I think they can do another Indy, if they set it in the 1960s. He could umcomfortably be sitting on his tenure being an archeology professor, being not truly satisfied with his life now that he's stopped going out into the field and doing interesting digs (interesting meaning not being shot at by Nazis and dodging ancient but still working traps). Then suddenly a man stumbles into his office, carrying a book, goes "Professor Jones..." and then collaspes.
Heh heh, it's funny, on one Late Night, Harrison Ford (who was plugging the movie "What Lies Beneath") and Carolina Rhea were on. After Ford left and Rhea came out, shook hands with Conan, and sat down, she said "Did you see Harrison Ford back there? Boy, I know that I'd like to Lie Beneath..."

I already have an idea for the plot. It would be called "Indiana Jones and the Search for the Third Bomb." You remember those two nuc-u-lar bombs that were built by the U.S. during WWII, right? What if there were another?
This third bomb would carry a powerful mystical force that would spell the doom of democracy and give the reds complete control over the world. That is why Truman buried it on a remote island. He thought it's power far too great for any nation to possess. The commies go in search of it, and it's up to Indy to find it first.
Indiana Jones must travel across the globe with his aging father (Sean Connery), and his ancient grandfather. (Tommy Lee Jones)
Just an idea.

If he does go off on a grand adventure, I'd better not ONE TIME hear him say "I'm getting too old for this."

What?? Don't be foolish, this is SD.NET? What possible reason would someone have for talking about sex here?

As long as no one mentions Indy anally interogating the Austrian girl from Last Crusade we should be fine. The thread won't have hit SD.Net rock bottom.

Now, why would Indy do that? He was having enough fun just ... arguing ... with her.

I prefer to think of it as him probing her.

Sure it is. Ford isn't as young as he used to be, of course, but he doesn't look bad, and he can probably handle any stunts that are required of him.

I bet they didn't have mystical powers.

I bet those damn Nazis didn't steal them, either.

I was kind of hoping that we'd see Sean Connery and Harrison Ford together again. Those two worked together fabulously.
