MARLINS WIN THE WORLD SERIES

More importantly, that means the Yankees lost. :D Whoo hoo!

Still, it is nice for the Marlins considering all they've gone through since they last won. It's also a nice story for their manager.

I've already been asked to kill the Marlins by a friend...

Hmmm...

Oh well, congratulations to the Marlins for kicking Yankee ass.

Yes, and the Toronto Maple Leafs won 4-1 over the Washington Capitals.

*pulls out Lewis Gun and empties a full pan of ammo into Aerius, and
then into the Washington Caps management, and puts another pan
of ammo on and empties it into the Professional Sports League heads*

Why is it that in virtually every other place, a single sports team works
just fine for a state, yet we have multiple teams in a single city called
New York? If you want to contract the leage, contract some NYC teams.

Yeah. I'm not a Marlins fan; I was rooting against them in the playoffs. But it's not important that the Marlins won. It's important that the

YANKEES LOST!

Whoopeee....Brian Cashman made serious errors. *sigh*
Hopefully he'll figure out that his aquisitions *Aaron Boone  * are BULLSHIT and kicks them out.

My main gnawing is: GET VENTURA BACK! AND DAMN YOU FOR TRADING CLAUSON AWAY! :finger:

Heh... Got humiliated in their own house, too. My team was the Cubs. I wanted them and the Red Sox for the series. Can't really say I was able to root for Florida. But at least I get to have the satisfaction of watching the Yanks go down in flames.

HA HA! EAT IT, LOSERS!!!

There, rant over. Had to get that off my chest.

Steinbrenner's probably going nuts right now. Wouldn't surprise me if he fires Torre Monday and starts wrecking the franchise again.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

We could only be so lucky. It could be like the 80's all over again. :)

Wow, people outside New York and Florida actually watched that?

Yes. It is the duty of every baseball fan to pray fervently every night for the destruction of the Yankees.

My GF used to be a marketing-type person for Fila in central america. She wnet on some kind of tour with Derek Jeeter..(I know she isn't lying, she showed me newspaper clippings) Anyhoo. She said he is just the nicest guy you would ever want to meet, but I just got it in my head that Derek was with MY girlfriend for weeks...sometimes alone....I didn't ask, but my brain says to me "Hey, SOMEthing happened.."(I don't care that it was years ago.) As If I needed another reason to hate that arrogant fuck. I'm glad he lost. I wish it was him getting struck out that lost the series. If you'll excuse me, I need to finish my voodoo doll

I was rooting for the Florida Marlins just because the Yankees have already won 26 World Series games. That's about a quarter of them, IIRC. But usually, I don't care how it turns out.

I know I didn't.

I'll give the Marlins credit, even though I don't like them: they play baseball the right way. While everyone else is swinging for the fences *cough*Jimmy Rollins*cough*, they're content to play small ball and quietly score runs--of course, it doesn't hurt that they've got some of the best pitching in the league.

Huzzah!

And it was good to actually see some bunting. I wasn't sure the pros still remembered how to bunt. (Somewhat of a touchy topic for me...my great-great-uncle holds THREE MLB records, and isn't in the Hall, probably because they're all for bunting, which was the most likely method of scoring in the Dead Ball Era).

The Marlins might be the only team in the majors today that would have a shot at real success in the Dead Ball Era. I'd love to see Josh Beckett throw a spitball.
