Yes, those unofficial rules of debate, like the first one to mention Hitler loses, etc. I've got a new one.

Tt's called "Envoking the Wachoski".

Rule states: Whomever first refers to any quote or instance of The Matrix films or other related media in a debate about philosphy shall be discredited.

Hey, if you're going to use it as a new rule, you could at least use the right name.

This is a weird coincidence, because just yesterday I read something on an Everything2 node that's relevant to this thread. Creepy, huh? Anyway, the gist is that analogies from the Matrix are more likely to be understood by average people than the usual terminology.

I agree. It's like how ridiculous would it be if we started calling SW straw wars or something...

Then again one of the two gave us Bound :P .

As a whole it should be more called the Matrix rule rather then use their name since that's the distinction one is trying to establish.

It's more like spelling Lucas with a k, Lukas.

Which looks ridiculous, by the way. :)

Addenum 1: Exception shall be given if the person is question is quoting a previous post, and pointing out that the philosphy being used is the same/is as bad as that used in The Matrix.
