Singapore Policeman Gets Two Years for Oral Sex

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singaporean police sergeant has been jailed for two years for having oral sex in a country where prostitution is legal but oral sex is not, a newspaper reported Friday.
The Straits Times reported that the 27-year-old police coast guard sergeant landed in court after a 16-year-old reported to the police that she had performed oral sex on the man.
She was above the age of consent and agreed to perform the act, but oral sex is against the law in the city-state, the paper said.
"The act by itself is an offence. It is not a question of consent or no consent. Even between consenting people, it is an offence," criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan told the paper.
The maximum punishment for the offence is life imprisonment.

It is, but I remind you that in some american states sodomy is still a crime. Of course, people are not thrown to jail for life, but that's Singapure concept of enforcing law to you. Spit on the floor and you spend time in jail.

Shit, forgot you were Canadian, my bad. But it doesnt make any sense though, canada has legalized gay marriage and the US for the most part doesnt. but the US struck down Sodomy laws but Canada still has them?

Well, they're not laws anymore. Part of Bill C-250 states that it removes unjust anal sex laws, which I have never heard of before, but they must have existed (we went over the bill in Social Studies). They were probably in the Northwest Territories, or something.
EDIT: And I think the Supreme Court didn't say they were unconsitiutional, but unfair, or something like that.
