Horrible Deaths in Nature

As most of us know, the Natural world isn't always a nice place. Unless you happen to be the top predator, there can be some awful ways to die if you're an animal. And things aren't that much better when Humans get in the mix.
So what form of death found in nature(or through human intervention with animals) do you think is the worst?
My personal non-favorite: Swallowed alive, as which happens to many small fish and other animals. Dissolved in stomach acid is a pretty bad way to go.

That, or being trapped somewhere where you can't out, like in the water with a shark, where you know that death is coming, and it's a choice between drowning or being eaten in chunks.
But I think the swallowed alive one is definately worst.

1)Getting eaten by your own mother. Rodents do this, and I had hamsters where there would be a litter, and some of the babies would dissapear w/o a trace.
2)Getting paralyzed then starving to death. I had a dog that killed 4 skunks this way. He'd get sprayed, then break their back and they would slowly die after a couple of days stinking up my whole yard.

I once saw a buffalo killed by wolves on T.V. that would fucking suck major chlamydia infected donkey balls. They wore that bitch down for like 45 minutes, chaed it, ripped it's haunches open, then when it got too weak, they ate it- ALIVE. thats right, they were ripping it apart and eating it while it was still ALIVE. THAT, dear friends is Real ultimate power. Suck suck suck.

A popular tactic amongst pack animals anywhere in the world.
tHe worst possible death hmmmmm....
Have you ever seen Killer Whales playw ith their food? some of them have this thing wher ethey like to bite seals then toss them way up into the air and play with them like a rag doll before actually consuming them. One seal I remember in particular was tossed up into the air about twenty feet or so It seemed like and his head subsequently smashed against an ice flow, the whale chomped it again then tossed it up and it hit the water. Most gruesome.
Of course Anacondas arent very nice either, breaking shitloads of bones as you choke to death.
Now this would be cruel, im sure most of you have heard how sometimes Dolphins attack sharks, and how of course Sharks sometimes fight with each other during Feeding Frenzies.
Parasties are bad, SOme FEmale Orangutangs are brutally raped to death by males.
Chimps beat each other to death and sometimes eat the losers.

Orcas can be really cruel with their food, sometimes they keep on playing with the dead carcass for hours.
Those worms that David Attenborough throws (metaphrocially) at creationists, small ones that live by rivers that burrow into kids' eyes, that must suck, to go blind in the wild and get eaten by something.
Dolphins also have gang wars with porpoises, and can be vicious little buggers if they corner one.
Crocodiles can be messy with their prey too, grabbing them by underbellies and the like, then pulling then either wide open or underwater to drown.

Such is nature- it is wild, uncontrollable and a fierce fight for survival. It can be cruel from our perspective- I saw a program about whales once- a mother blue whale and her calf were on a journey from South America to North America, and on the way, they were attacked by a group of killer whales- they chased the blue whales for hours, in what must have been a terrifying ordeal for them both, until the calf was exhausted, and just couldn't go on. The killer whales drowned it- and then ate part of the tongue. That was all they ate. It seemed like such a pointless death for a creature just starting life.

Its not as pointless as when humans kill certain animal only to cut a small part to used in their aphrodisiac shit.

Well, on that Montcalm, I agree wholeheartedly. Some of the things that we humans do to animals are necessary for us to survive- and some are just obsence, without any reason- unless malice can be considered a reason.

I forgot to add on my previous post that the program you saw did`nt stay long enough to show sharks munching on the remains,so nothing was wasted.

Well, the program showed the carcass rotting at the bottom of the ocean, untouched (aside from the killer whales tongue eating, and a few nibbles taken from small fish).

The female Pepsis Wasp, AKA Tarantula Hawk, will paralyse a tarantula with it's sting, drag it to it's burrow, and lay a single egg on it.
When the egg hatches, the larvae feeds on the paralysed tarantula, avoiding major organs in order to keep it alive as long as possible, till it pupates.
I hate spiders, and tarantulas in particular, but that's so ghastly the mind boggles.
Any wild dog, wolves included, will eat prey asshole first, kicking and screaming.

Eww...this isn't really death per se' but if I found one in me I'd probably die. The Bot Fly.
Finding a Bot Fly.

Being eaten from the inside out, like several varietys of wasp larvae do to spiders.

having a spider lay eggs on you, the eggs hatch and then the baby spiders eat you alive.
being eaten alive is the most terrible death no matter how you look at it and in the natural world, thats the most likely one unfortunatly.

Being trapped in a web, having your wings smashed as you struggle and then being liquified by spider venom.
ICK!

They dont break bones. The presure is pretty even... The animal exhales, the snake uses that opportunity to increase the pressure, until blood is cut off to the animals brain and it dies.
I should think that being aught in a swarm of jellyfish would be a bad way to go... That or being ripped apart by a Humbolt squid.

I've seen film of a female praying mantis pivot her head around 90 degrees and eat the male's head while they're mating, and the male's decapitated body continues going at it. Now THAT's dedication!
