I dunno about Lenny, but Carl's last name was said in the one where artie ziff returns. He's called Carl Carlson in that one.Andrew J. wrote:I liked it. Was that the first time we heard Lenny and Carl's last names, though? I can't remember.

That episode sucked. Like the past five seasons, it had a few really good laughs but was ridiculously moronic and filled with bad writting, so much that overall the show is poor. This show is pretty sad nowadays but it occasionally manages some good gags. The story's are garbage though--they ran out of ideas about 7 years ago and now resort to returning guest characters and having the family travel to different countries.

I agree, but what can you expect? It's been a good 14 (I think...) years, and the original writing staff has all left to form better shows, like Conan O'Brien, still it was a good run while it lasted, and it can still produce some half decent shows at time...zombie84 wrote:That episode sucked. I still think it's really funny and even if it's not that fresh it's still really entertaining. Far better than most shows out there.zombie84 wrote:That episode sucked. What you are forgetting my friend is that the Simpsons is the Blueprint for all the alternative cartoons of today....the Wright Brothers made the Aeroplane...just because it is not a Harrier Jump Jet...without it...the latter would not existzombie84 wrote:Futurama and Family Guy left Simpsons in the dust. Futurama is a damn good show. But it's a different sort of show compared to Simpsons.
And Family Guy, it sucks. It wanted to be the Simpsons but frankly it was full of stupid jokes and sucked ass.
If you think the past seasons of the Simpsons are anything other than patehtic attempts of milking a franchise that has been dead since the turn of the century then i'm not sure i want to know what you consider good comedy.MKSheppard wrote:Says the moron who thinks Matrix is God.zombie84 wrote:That episode sucked. And my and your opinion of the Matrix has no bearing on this (no i dont think the Matrix is god). Fuck you if you dont agree with me.
Family Guy is a love it or hate it matter but i for one think it is very funny and is everything that the Simpsons once was. Its stupid and low-brow, but it has a biting and smart satire in it, and its style is much closer in spirit to the first half dozen seasons of teh Simpsons.
I'm not bashing the Simpsons in general--its my favourite televsion show along with Seinfeld--but its completly plunged off the deep end in teh last five or six years when you consider what it once was. Like i said, it still manages laughs here and there but overall, the show is a pale shadow of its former self. Seinfeld had the decency to go out on top with dignity. But i still watch every new episode, just because i've become so accustomed to the characters.
