My older sister's boyfriend was airlifted to a hospital for a ruptured aorta.

Well, if they got him to hospital soon enough hopefully he'll be okay. Best wishes for his recovery. Best to just be there for your sister, she's going to need you.darthdavid wrote:My older sister's boyfriend was airlifted to a hospital for a ruptured aorta.

That is very bad, even if it hasn't yet ruptured. I hope your fiend makes it.
A couple years ago my dad's aorta essentially unraveled. He was driving at the time and noticed something was wrong when his leg lost all feeling. He was told later that if he hadn't driven himself to the nearest hospital, which was real fun in a stick shift, he would have certainly died. But a quick airlift, a long surgery and couple new pig and titanium heart vales later he was out of the hospital. Unfortunately he's since had to go back weekly, some times twice weekly to have blood drawn to monitor his levels of blood thinner. Hopefully your friend won't have to go through that and his levels will regulate.
