...and if you adopted sibling was attractive and of your preferred gender, would you be OK with dating or sleeping with said sibling?

This was inspired by The Royal Tenenbaums which I was forced to watch with my chickfriends and some of our friends this afternoon.

Ofcourse I would be. I'd be cool with sleeping with a cute BLOOD brother, let along adopted.

If it was Gwyneth Paltrow - hell yeah.

I don't see how there could be dating though. More like getting fucked up at a college party with adopted-sibling and then sleeping with them, or bumping into each other in the bathroom and having some fun-time with the shower hose but incidences like those would have to be kept secret.

Of course, folks would start getting suspicious if two step-siblings stayed single and lived with each other for years...

Well its strictly a social taboo so it really depends on if those types of things bother you (of course the same could be said about incest). I suppose theres nothing at all wrong with it if both partners feel cofortable with it.

Its not entirely unknown for real borthers and sisters who love eachother to take up residence as a couple. If I had an adopted sibling (or even I was the adopted one) and I was attracted to her, I would most certainly want to make it a higher relationship. However for sake of the family we would probably keep certain aspects secret.

I don't see why not. We may be kin, but not by blood. Societal taboos aside, the main reason incest is bad is because of potential inbreeding. But she's adopted, so that's not a problem.

I had to stick my head into this since I am adopted....I suppose if I were in that scenario I might.

There's just something about siblings that makes them unnatractive in my eyes, so I'd say no. However, if she's really attractive and doesn't mind such a relationship and I'm desperate, I might have a small, secret relationship. And, since we're not related by blood, there won't be any problems with inbreeding.

Once I get that sibling feeling I couldn't really be attracted like that to the person.

Depends on how long you've known each other for. If you where brough up with him or her it'd be WAY too weird, however if s/he was new to the family and they where fit i'd go for it.

i have to agree with pounder on this one. . . .if i was raised with the person since we were kids, then i'd probably say not. but, if they were adopted later on, then that sibling connection simply wouldn't be there, and would have no problems sleeping with them if i found them attractive. seeing there isn't any blood connections.

I think i'd be OK with falling in love with an adopted sibling.

Now, I think that as long as we're living with our parents, dating an adopted sibling is probably out of the question. I suppose I could sleep with him in the literal sense (as in we share a bed and the clothes stay on) but nothing happens until we move out. After that, it would still take some getting used to but I don't see why not. It's still kinda weird though.

No thanks. Anyone who's my brother or sister by name is off-limits, which holds true for adopted siblings and ones who marry into the family. No touchy.

Hopefully they adopt her sister as well, then my life would truly be complete. I'd have my room soundproofed and have kinky threesomes every night and live out my wildest sexual fantasies...damn, I think I'm drifting off into la-la land.

So as I was saying, of course I'd still sleep with her and she'd still be my GF, we'd just get to see each other more. Life would go on as usual, but I'd just have to soundproof my room and put a better lock on the door.

I happen to know a girl who has an adopted brother, and they developed an intimate relationship. The parents had no problem with it, but the girl used to get harassed at school about it.

Personally, I see no problem with it. There's no chance of in-breeding, so why care?

As a rule with sisters, I have to be mean to her and hit her and stuff. So no, wouldn't happen
