Men are simple creatures or so they say.

--After reading the cosmo thread I decided to have a quick look what advice girls/women are being given and came accross this gem (which I find terribly amusing):
"At the laundromat: ... Girls can always ask for help from guys in lifting things. This seems to be universally appreciated by guys, being such simple creatures that they are... "

-This was part of a conversation ice breaker ... ummm ... thingy ... found here. Comments? Is this to inflate a man's ego or something?

Guys wanna help, I guess. It's that simple.

Simple, by the way, seems to be the watchword of that site. I looked through a bit of the articles there. They seem painfully basic, not to mention formulaic.

It's really hard to say whether guys are simple or not.

We become simple in the presence of girls.

A man can write great works of literature, discover fantastic scientific principles, explore the world, ponder philosophy, study history, discuss politics, and many other lofty things. But take that man, put him in front of a beautiful woman, and he becomes a blithering idiot.

 So very true. Man. I try not to be that shallow, but it is quite possibly the hardest thing in the world. :banghead:

Good that at the moment I have no dealings with girls, so I can concentrate on creative things. Girls...maybe later.

Really? And to think, I've been being a blithering idiot all the time! I'll have to try to write a great work of literature sometime.

Mike speaks the truth. According to people i know i'm very articulate, however put me in front of someone i fancy and my tongue doubles in size and my attempts in communication end in me looking like a blabbering edjit.

i've got no problems holding conversations with girls. . .comes quite easily actually. the only part that i become a blithering idiot is when i try doing anything related to starting up a relationship in any way. . . .sometimes i can work around it sometimes not.

Don't get simple mixed up with retarded. I consider myself fairly simple with all things, I know what I want and usually go for it. I don't see simple as a bad thing. If I am in the same situation in a laundrymat, and a girl ask me to lift her clothes for help I am most likely going to do it, on the other hand if a guy asked me how to operate the washer, I would most likely help him. Most people, (including girls) like helping other people, it makes them feel good, and feel needed. Guys can do the same thing to break the ice, ask for a girls help (usually our egos get in the way), and 90% of the time they will help you. Its human nature to help, its that males usually don't ask as much as females.
