Movies of Russian equipment online

Post by Sea Skimmer »

ROSOBORONEXPORT, Russia's general defense industry export site has uploaded a crap load of videos of its various tanks/guns/missiles.

http://www.rusarm.ru/video.htm

All trials and demonstrations unfortunately, almost none of the stuff has seen combat. However there is a lot of live fire.. Kashtan/CADS-N-1 CIWS is a must see. The dual 30mm gatling guns are most impressive..
The T-80 one is also good as it demonstrates how the patented autoloader arm loading feature works and the T-80U's flight capacity.

However the videos are in such a format as to impede the saving of them to your hard drive. Lucky somebody on another forum has done most of the work converting the links to save time. He however did not do the naval stuff.

Excellent post. Some of the vids are a bit old (Mi-28 still has its 1997 vintage MMW radar, even though the shape changed a few years back) but excellent.

Btw, that German forum thread has posted links to the naval equipment :)

Whoops correction that Mi-28N does have the new radar- tsk should've been paying more attention.

I noticed the naval stuff. I still haven't downloaded the Mi-28 video; 56K connection so each on takes 6-20 minutes depending on size.

The chain gun on the naval vessel was pretty impressive. I had to use IE though. It would not show in Opera.

Its not a chain gun, dual 30mm six barreled galting guns. They however are encased in a covering which makes it hard to tell unelss you see it head on.
