The idea for this thread just came to me a few minutes ago.

So, as a kid, how much did you get from the tooth fairy when you lost a baby tooth?

For me and Uts, it was $1.25.

A quid, usually. So, about $1.50.

Actually, on checking, it's currently 1.73 dollars to the pound.

Jesus man, it didn't hurt THAT much... I used to pull 'em out with my fingers when they got loose enough... it bleeds for maybe half an hour and goes away.

That's one thing I miss about being a little kid, loose teeth.... it was fun to play with it and see how loose you could get it. Move it 'till it hurts, push it a little more each time... how every kid should spend their spare time. :P

I did the same thing. Maybe Vald had them pulled out when they became slightly loose early on, which would indeed hurt quite a lot.

I don't really remember, but I want to say I got a quarter. I know some of the kids at school got a dollar or more, and I was surly with them for getting more than me. These were the same kids whose parents, come report card time, paid them $20 for an A, $15 for a B, $10 for a C (but they all were stupid so they made something like $6.39 total :P ), while I had straight As and never got a penny for 'em. *narrows eyes* Little bastards.

They got loose? Wait, they fall out naturally anyway?!

Yeah. Sometimes they'd be loose for a few days (often dangling about in their socket near the end) before falling out or getting a tug.

You really mean that you got yours pulled out?

Bah, they had it too easy, hard working people like us know how it is, I mean, I had to get up out of bed at half past 10 at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of freezing cold poison, work 28 hours a day at mill, and pay millowner to let me work there, and when I got home, my dad used to murder me in cold blood, each night, and dance about on my grave, singing hallelujah.

And you try telling the young people of today that, and they accuse of stealing Monty Python jokes and generally being quite, quite mad.

They don't always fall out naturally, I had a tooth which I hit in an accident when I was little, killed all the nerve endings in it and turned it black, and it wasnt shifting when the adult teeth came sauntering in, had to have it pulled out, but it was so dead, that there was hardly any blood as I recall.

I just heard some kids at school found cash under their pillows for teeth. So I pulled my milk teeth out. At age 4. With my Dad's pliers.

Yeah, but that would be a special exception. I'm refering to normal cases of baby teeth getting loose as the adult ones grow in.

So that's what my mom been doing when she sneaks out at night :). I got a dollar usually. I remember this one tooth that wouldn't fall out. It was the incisor and it wasn't falling out even though the adult tooth was growing out, so I had 2 rows of teeth with the adult incisor coming out from the top of the gum. Eventually I got it out when I was playing with it and rotating it 180 degrees and back but then I forgot which way I had rotated it and rotated it 360 degrees. That hurt like shit and it made some of my molars on that side hurt too for some reason and then the incisor just dropped.

Well, I'm getting my Wisdom teeth pulled so I better get some good cash.

As my dad put it: "You too will fall asleep in the chair and wake up in your bed."
