Favorite "Ethnic" Foods

I'm thinking about all the ethnic foods I've had;

Chinese, Indian, Cajun, Persian, Arabic, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Filipino, Italian, West Indies, German, Korean...

and if I had to chose just ONE ethnic food I could have for the rest of my life, meaning I could only have dinner from that particular menu,

I'd chose Italian, with Japanese an extremely close second.

How about other folks? What would you chose as your one and only ethnic food for the rest of your life?

english isn't american. ;)

though i've always been partial to Chinese food myself. egg rolls, sweet & sour pork, stir fried rice. . . . .never had much in the way of japanese food, though one of these days i -will- try sushi! Italian food's always good too, can't go wrong with pasta.

Two of my favorite foods are Lasagna(italian) and this one greek recipe, can't remember the name, but it's layed in layers kinda like lasagna and has cheese on top. Abso-freaking-lutely great :D

Most often I will eat Cantonese food. On rare occasions my friends and I zoom up to Oakland Chinatown for a little shopping and a meal at this hole in the hall. Its a little dirty, most of the staff is not proficient in English, and Im usually the only white man there. Which means the food is very good. Its well priced too. The jook (rice porridge) is pretty good there, but I like the bbq pork noodle soup or rice plate. My favorite small dish is one of the shrimp and noodle dim sum things. Cant remember the name. Hmm....good eating.

You're thinking about pastitsio. Yes, it is excellent... I honestly prefer it to lasagna. But then again, I don't like excesses of tomato sauce.

Hard choice.

I could live off of Shrimp Pad Thai alone for the rest of my life, I think. Then again, I LOVE Italian food, and Greek as well. Plus the Egyptian food I've had is delicious....

Gah. I suppose if I had to choose I'd go with Italian, because then I get to have my pasta AND yummy cannoli... But Thai and Greek would be a close second. And then Egyptian. And then everything else.

I like pretty much everything.

If I had to choose I'd go with Italian, no questions asked. Its pretty much what I make all the time at home anyway, so there wouldn't be much change. It would just save me a few trips to Chinatown for my 'asian' groceries.

Does good ol' "clutch your arteries after every meal" Southern cooking count?

Try to take away my pasta and you'll find out wether the Batman really doesn't kill.
There's also a spanish restaurant I rather like but that's mainly because they do a mean lamb filet. Does that count as an ethnic preference?

EDIT:Post 747!WOOT!!! JUMBO JET POSTCOUNT!!!
