I just realized that the right music can make a bad job a little more tolerable. The muzak at the store I work in has been changed to classic rock; so my spirits are lifted every time they play "Spill the Wine" and "Sharp-Dressed Man," among others. They play a lot of Hendrix as well.
I don't know if this thread should be about music making your job more tolerable, or other things that can accomplish the same thing. So we can discus both.

i work in a reception area, i'm not allowed music. It drives me batty, I spend 20 hours a day or so awake and i'd prefer those 20 hours to contain the delecate tones of Fear Factory, i could in my last job.

Indeed. Just as the wrong music at work can make you pray for a speedy death. My employers seem to have gone out of their way to complie a collection of the dullest, most inane pop music ever written, and play it continually. They used to have an in-house radio station which interspersed the incredibly crap music with even craper ads for their business. However this practice was discontinued after their regular customers started leaving in droves and the staff started to complain that they were being brainwashed. The worst thing about the music is that it is played on the
Evil CD-player of DOOM, which can only play CDs provided by the company that supplies the music compilations.
PS: I like this emoticon so much, I think I'll post it again, just for the hell of it.
