bear witness to a gentlemen's agreement

An arrangement has been agreed upon between Chardok and myself.

Should the Dolphins be victorious over the Patriots on sunday (chuckle) I am obliged to:

sport an avatar which portrays the Miami Dolphins (logo, player etc) franchise in a positive manner.

Post glowing praise of the supposed 'glorious miami victory' in the HoS

Conversely, Should the opposite come to pass, Chardok is obliged under the penalty of ridicule to take the same actions in support of the New England Patriots.

gloating is a seperate issue and is always allowed.

What, no wearing of the appropriate NFL underoos (are those things still around) to one's place of employment with appropriate snapshots for proof?

(Sorry for the long time it took to reply...I'm at work and all :) )

Be it known this day to all who view this thread, that I, Chardok, do hereby agree to said terms and to cheerily acknowledge any gloating as being the undeniable truth with respect to the winning team. Further, for a period of no less than 24 hours, I agree that, should my team lose, I shall proudly post as my avatar the logo of the opposing team. Additionally, I agree to extoll the virtues of the winning team in all their glory, pursuant to the tenets set forth by article 17 of the code of shameless Fan wankery.

Additionally, I agree that said avatar change and said post will be made within 12 hours of the final whistle.

When I first read that thread title, I thought it was a quote of a headline, thus meaning, "A bear witnessed a gentleman's agreement," and I assumed that 'a gentleman's agreement' was a metaphor. Very amusing.

A slight ammendment, if I may. the loser of the wager should be the one to open the thread extolling the winning team. Agreed?

As long as Cincy beats Baltimore I'm cool. Though I doubt miami's going to win.

I see that the Gentlemen's Agreement has been at least partially observed already.

Kind of tough on the Dolphins to have a short week Thanksgiving week and still manage to kill the Cowboys and then have to go up to New England for a nice (how football ought to be played) winter football game.

That is an appropriate place for it considering the Dolphins spanked the Cowboys last week and then were blanked by the Pats this week. I just hope they keep their act together long enough to make the playoffs. I am getting tired of "Miami always colapses in December" crap. :D

TO be fair, they started their collapse WAY before december this year. What they need to do is LOSE JAY FIEDLER, grab a good rookie and an old timer, stick the old timer in there for half the season, then, when the season is unsalvageable, (As it ultimately will be), stick Mr. Rookie in, and groom him to lead the dolphins back to greatness (Jacksonville is doing it with Byron Leftwich, and look at-oh wait, nevermind  )

SPEAKING OF WHICH:

*Soapbox*

Okay, We all know the Jacksonville is to the new millenium as the Jets were to the late 80's (2&12 and whatnot). but is Jack Del Rio Fucking STUPID?! Putting that OGRE Byron Leftwich in over DAVID GERARD?! DOUBLE YOO TEE EFF?! David gerard could potentially be Jacksonville's total package, he could rescue them from the depths of complete suckitude! David gerard has a *decent* arm, we KNOW the guy can move like the dickens, he can take a hit, and he's quick on the draw! Leftwich, on the other hand, is an oaf. Look at the guy! Look at the way he walks! It's somewhat analagous to the Cave troll from FotR!! Look at his eyes! Do those eyes say "Intelleigence" to you?! (Hint: no.) he looks like Bubba (Forrest Gump)!! I look at Byron Leftwich's eyes and I see, "Huh?". he doesn't play with heart, he doesn't play with intensity, Hell, He had 3 DAYS of practice before the season started (Cause he's greedy)

Boot leftwich, Del Rio, if you want your team to go anywhere. Half of jacksonville already thinks you're a moron for not playing Gerard, don't confirm their belief by continuing this blatant presentation of your stupidity.

I'm done, now.
