Hey kids, guess what day it is?

It's NOXIOUS CHEMICAL DAY! Yay! Today, we're going to fill up five big barrels with liquids that can burn right through your clothes! Wow! And they smell bad too, don't they? Hooo-weee! But don't worry, kids! We've got some more chemicals to dump in there! Let's have our good buddy Kuja do it for us! Look at that! The yellow turned dark blue! Isn't that neat? See kids, the chemical we dumped in there gets rid of all that nasty acid so that it doesn't eat through Kuja's gloves! Too bad it makes the water smell even worse! Oh, look at that! Poor Kuja got a lungful and he's nearly doubled over coughing! Didn't someone warn him that you need to have a breath mask when you're doing this job? No? Well, kids, that just goes to show you: SAFETY FIRST!

Oh, look now! Those big barrels are ready to be dumped down the drain to the treatment plant so that all those nasty chemicals can be filtered out! Since Kuja's out good buddy, he'll do it for us! Uh-oh...I guess nobody warned Kuja about how that barrel wasn't balanced properly! Poor Kuja, now he's got sodium metabisulfate all over his clothes! Can you say metabisulfate, kids? Do you know why it's called that? No? Well, it's got sulfur in it! That's right! Oh, and look at poor Kuja now, all the cuts and scrapes on his hands that come from a hard day's work have sulfuric and acidic chemicals in them! That must sting pretty bad, huh kids? Kuja must think so too-he's using a lot of naughty language and his hands are shaking so badly! He's probably going to need medical attention before he gets chemical burns!

Don't worry kids, there's plenty of help available! See, here come Kuja's friends now, and one of them has the treatment kit! See, all they have to do is rub Kuja's cuts with the gel and he'll be just fine! Oh, but it doesn't look like Kuja's enjoying it...why else would he need a coworker to hold each hand down while the supervisor slathers the gel on his cuts and puts those neat little bandages on them!

Well, Kuja's had quite a day, huh kids? Oh, don't worry about him, I'm sure he'll get his voice back tomorrow. But that's what happens when you do a lot of screaming kids, so be careful, all right? Well, that's all the time we have here on Noxious Chemical day, kids! Wave bye-bye!

David, that really is his job. And I'm sure all that shit really did just happen. And I'm sure that he decided to tell us like this to refrain from making the post six times longer with all the swearing and shit he would've done if he hadn't gone into the little kid story-mode schtick.

Actually, today is Saint Nicholas Day, which the night before you set out your shoes in front of the fireplace and Saint Nicholas visits, and later this morning you check to see if he left a gift with your shoes.

Mainly a European holiday, but we've been doing it for years. :)

So happy Saint Nicholas Day, everyone!! :)

There is no other place in WNY that'll give me the solid hours and pay that my current place of employment does. For better or worse, I'm staying where I am.

Ah yes, St. Nicholas Day, which all the Greek Orthodox, ahem, 'religiously' celebrate ;)

BTW, I assume you bandaged it immediately. It's really more of a base, but it can be corrosive if it's exposed to air.

Edit: also it can cause allergic reactions if you are exposed to it for to long.

Yeah, I got it wrapped up PDQ. The pain is almost completely gone already, so I think I'm in good shape.

Yeah, shouldn't you be in some hospital somewhere? Resting, not getting aggravated..... Obviously, you're disregarding the doctor advice

If he couldn't type he would really be in trouble. It'll be a dark day on the sun when an SD.Netter is unable to complain about their lives on this board. :D

On a more sober..er..somber note, that's a sucky day. I hope you don't get too many more of those. Good Luck, take your mind of your wounds, get something fun to do, think Ivy.
