I once saw a sign in front of a church saying:

Some actress
Captain Kirk

I wanted to go in there and tell them that Kirk has indeed pulled that trick. I told my mum I noticed that and got the same lecture on how life does not revolve around Star Trek.

Here are some of mine:

I remember a Lutheran church near my home once had their sign saying "Warning: exposure to the son may prevent burning."

It made me chuckle.

Well, several churches around here have "The millenium is Christ's 2000th birthday" (is that accurate btw? I thought AD started from when Jesus supposedly died, like in his 30's?)and "One Church, One Lord, JESUS CHRIST" and "God is not ex-directory".

The humourous thing is that the "one church one lord" sign is outside a church that is only around 30 metres if that from another church. Makes me laugh every time i see it.

My friend had a church in his neighborhood that would always put funny shit on its sign. It once read, "Sign broken. Come inside for message."

While not technically a church sign, this is amusing:

The area around Phoenix is known as the Valley of the Sun, for painfully obvious reasons to anyone who lives here.
There's a church off of Ellsworth Rd. in the east valley called, now get this, "CHRIST CHURCH OF SON VALLEY".

It started on the birth of Christ. And the thing about 'One Church' means the unified Christian church. While most denominations have small differences in the interpretation of passages of the Bible, almost all have the same basis.
