From Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin......

Before you complain that they're from a game, remember that the programmers
of the game are ARMOR freaks and wargame GROGS.....and they spent
TWO years heavily researching this data.....

Okay, what is this meant to show?

The T-34, whilst being heavier and better armoured than the Pz.IIIH is faster and has lower ground pressure, it's gun also has better armour penetration at ranges above 100m. The T-34 can also easily penetrate the upper hull armour at 1000m whilst the Pz.IIIH can't penetrate the T-34s upper hull at 100m!!! I won't comment on the turret armour as I don't know how they model the curvature, also how do they model armour quality?

Oh, and how do they rate the 5cm/60 compared to the 76.2 on early T-34s?

What's your point? The advantages of the Panzer III didn't lie within its raw specifications. A late model Panzer IV is another story.

off the top of my head I *think* that if it's 90% quality,
then it means if you have a 100mm plate of armor,
it's only as good as 90mm of 'good' armor, and the
chances of armor flaking, penetrations, etc increase
greatly....

I did some looking. The Early 1941 T-34s have 95% quality
plate, but after those pre-war models, quality declines
to 90% and stays there for the rest of the war.

This decline in quality wasn't limited to just Russian pieces of
crap issued with sledges to shift gears....

See the progression of shit armor, eh?

The late war German 'cats had armor as shittily bad as the Russians did.

Mmm yes the tank-killing T-34/57 with 57mm gun ... didn't see much use in the war though, IIRC Russian Battlefield noted it was mostly in the wrong place at the wrong time to actually engage German armor.
