Who do you go with? The classic band, or the new(er) guys?
I'd stick with The Doors, myself.

...
Three Doors Down?
Is this some sort of sick twisted joke? Why not match the Beatles against the Backstreet Boys? After all, both names start with the letter B!

Oh please, this is like pitting the Culture against Earthforce. The Doors win hands down.

I actually feel the Doors are overrated, but they're still better than Three Doors Down. Three Doors Down does make a few songs I like, but most of their stuff is generic contempo-rock that nobody will remember in 5 years.

Jim Morrison was a drunken ass masquerading as a poet, to borrow from Lester Bangs. But he's still better than the Three Doors Down.

I want to say The Doors but there's that new version with Ian ASSbury of The Cult as their lead singer and it's taking points away from the original group.
Still I'd think I'd go with The Doors although I don't mind Three Doors Down. At least I can identify them correclty when they are played on the radio. Most of the rest of the newer groups sound so similar that I just can't make the name to song connection with out extrem repetition.

Darthdavid, the line "I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band" is from a song by The Moody Blues.

That does not exist. I suggest you treat it as such.

No the DoorS are best known for their 23 minute epic to Odyssus, Fratricide, Soroicide, Patricide, and incestous rape called "The End"....

This question made me think of one thing...
"People are Strange"
The Doors had far better songs..

You had to ask this question? I believe the answer will be unanimous.

Quite correct. Of course, you can't be a true Doors fan unless you've collected all the original records--screw compilation sets!--and journeyed to their concerts on foot through the snow naked, so you can embrace their greatness.
