Just want to know what you think of over-population and what is in store for the future. Just so you know I think that there is no problem. And that in the long run we will have a decreasing population.

if we get stuff like poverty out of the world there will be a decrease. but that´s in the VERY long run.

The Africans are dying of AIDS, and it will get worse. In effect, entire countries are dissapearing /have dissapeared.

The 1st wolders have stable/decreasing populations (without taking into account the emmigrants)

The Asians are actively trying to exert control.

Hmm Most of Africa, in particular South Africa and most of South Asia(Excluding the Islands) has such a sever AIDS problem, expect to see an across the board 20% popluation loss over the next twenty years in those countrys

Also a great many of Japan's upperclass is sick as well but they won't be going for another thirty due to them being=rich

I saw a great ad on TV the other day by the Red Cross about "endangered species" and how by 2040 the elephant, tiger and orangutan will be recovering well and not have any threat to their environments because the majority of the human population in the area will have died from AIDs.

Weird man.

medicine agains aids will be found long before a way is found to solve poverty problems.

That was the point of the ad, trying to get people to donate money to a campaign to further develop AIDs medication.

I'm pretty sure that only China is actively trying to limit its population growth in Asia. One shouldn't generalize that to all Asians. I'm sure it was a mistake to say all Asians so I'll let it slide.

Modern countries that are going through the demographic transition will have a small and stable population growth. Developing countries have a high birth rate and a high death rate. Only time will tell if the high death rate will be enough to counteract the large population growth.

Africa has a population of around 800 million. They figure about 100-300 million are infected with Aids at least. They are not too sure abotu the north because they are living in countries too primitive and fundemtalist islamic to have a good idea of what the aids rate is.

I don't think there really isn't anything you can do with countires where infection rates are around 40-50% of the adult population. Those that refuse to live modest lives, will simply die off.

Looks lke Africa won't be recovering for another 200 years.

Mother Nature will always keep us in check.

Overpopulation is a serious problem. The Earth cannot possibly support 6 billion people living what we consider to be a comfortable first-world lifestyle. The environmental damage from agricultural deforestation alone is staggering, but billions of people cannot live in perpetual poverty and starvation either. There are simply too many of us.

The problem is exacerbated by idiots (read: Catholic Church) who still run around telling everyone to have as many babies as humanly possible.

However, the harsh reality is that populations will continue to remain stable in first-world nations while rising in regions of low education. This trend will result in most of the world's population being born in poverty-stricken nations (this is already the case, but it will only worsen with time), hence increasing the natural animosities that exist between third-worlders and first-worlders (a small number of people will have all the money and a comfortable lifestyle, while the rest breed like rabbits and then complain that they can't feed themselves).

The poor population would probably be in check be mother nature and I doubt the population is going to beat 10bil.

So how long before Mike posts to this thread advocating anal sex as a solution to the world's population problems?
