Who else lives in Calgary?

Anyone on this board live in Calgary? That's in Alberta, Canada for those who need that information. ;)

I'm pondering about filming a decent lightsaber video for my brother, since he wants to add all required effects to such film.

Ideally, this isn't going to have any cheesy dialogue(none if I can help it), and we'd want it to look as professional as possible within limitations imposed by available equipment, funds and time.

Anyone interested? PM me if you're scared of looking too geeky on the board for considering it.

I live here, but I don't have any video editting skills. I used iMovie for the first time yesterday.

Actually, there wouldn't be any such editing on your part. All I really need is a sparring partner, someone who'd have fun practicing some fighting moves, maybe be interested in dressing the part a bit.

Assuming someone were interested, this project wouldn't start right away. Frankly, you'd have to meet to make sure neither is a wackjob internet personality.

Would need to decide when and where to startup any production(for lack of better word), and decide what's actually going to be put into the effort. Ideally, this would be as cheap as possible, but a few bucks spent on equipment wouldn't be a problem for me(hence the time factor). Something along the lines of a few props, like a double-bladed lightsaber, mutiple single blade ones, etc.

Heck, the last and only lightsaber video I ever did when I was a kid used sticks...no one noticed and everyone who viewed it thought generally it wasn't too bad for a amatuer first film(we even had a few fans who played with the sound effects and music if you believe that! :) ).

We were planning to make another much better one(my brothers and I), but we got kinda sidetracked by life.

He just recently mentioned still being interested in editing such a film, so I thought I'd make the half assed effort here at SD.net since we clearly have no shortage of fans.

Sorry, but I don't have a lot of time on my hands these days.
