Living History Groups

Just want to ask you if anyone takes part in any Living History Group?
Im in a group that reenacts an AirCav platoon from the Vietnam War - in late 60's. I know that a bunch of guys in Poland reenacting soldiers from a war their country never took part in (well, not entirely true, approximately 300 polish officers were sent to North Vietnam as probably some sort of military advisors).
I would like to get in touch with some people that might have interest in Living History Groups.

I'm a member of the Society for Creative Ananchronism, also know as the
SCA
We recreate the best of the Medieval Ages. Now, this might not be exactly what you're thinking of, since we are not recreating an actual history, but recreating the feel of it.

No ... But we do have tourneys were you can armour up & beat on another armoured fighter with a rattan sword (or axe, or pike, or spear....)

No ... But we do have tourneys were you can armour up & beat on another armoured fighter with a rattan sword (or axe, or pike, or spear....)
Do you recreate mass starvation as well? Black death? Do you get to crush serf rebellions? Charge ill-armed peasant levies, or massed rows of disciplined Swiss pikes? And the armor..its only cleaned once every few months, right? I expect proper baths are even rarer. And all the water is pre-contaminated, no?

We recreate the best of the Middle Ages... which means we ignore the Plague unless it's as a joke.
I've seen the pikelines at Pennsic... 1000 strong. Crush the Rebellion is one of many wargames played, and works really well when set in a 'town'.
Armour? Cleaned?? You must be joking! I've smelled gym lockers cleaner than fighting armour! Hell, run over a skunk three or four times, it'll smell better than sweaty, dirty fighter!
Baths, on the other hand, are necessary. The only place they're rare is at Pennsic War. It might not be contaminated, but even the Solar Showers are freezing, no matter how much sun they got. you're better off going to the Swimming Hole. Better view there, too, since it's clothing optional.
