Eagles 34, Dolphins 27, on a Monday night in Miami when both teams needed to win. Donovan McNabb went 15/27 for 236 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Three-Headed Monster ran for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns, with McNabb running for an additional 14 yards and 1 touchdown. Brian Westbrook caught one touchdown pass on a 25 yard pass from wide reciever Freddie Mitchell on a trick play. David Akers connected for two field goals from 46 and 42 yards. Defensively, the Eagles gave up 240 yards through the air and 177 on the ground, 107 of which were gained by HB Ricky Williams. FS Brian Dawkins and SS Michael Lewis each snagged one interception.
The Eagles are back in first place in the NFC (after going down half a game following St. Louis's win yesterday) and hold a 2 game lead in the NFC East with 2 games to go (Dallas has not been mathematically eliminated because if they win out and Philadelphia loses out, the Cowboys will have a better division record). The Eagles control their own destiny and will earn home field throughout the playoffs if they win out. The Dolphins have not been eliminated from playoff contention, but they must win out and Denver must lose out to qualify.
The Eagles face San Francisco at home next week, and finish the season on December 27 at Washington.

Well, they should win the SF game because IIRC SF hasn't done much winning on the road this year.
Who knows how it could go at Washington. I would think the Eagles should win that one too but the Redskins are flakey.

I stopped watching after the first quarter and put on Ken Burn's american stories. You know how you get that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach? Yeah, it was like that...

Dolphins arent fish, but mammals.
Unless of course the fish you are refering to, is not dolphin safe

It was the 9th good football weekend in a row here in Philly
I think that our last two games should be wins. Washington may be 'flaky' but in a really BAD way.

Blah, wanted Miami to win, not that I really care about the Fins but I wanted Denver knocked out or at least challenged.

Really? I would have thought the first quarter would have been encouraging. We basically had no defense for the entire first half, save for that Dawkins interception. I was getting the same sick feeling you were, and it really didn't go away until the Michael Lewis interception in the fourth.

*eyes RI and his beloved Eagles suspiciously.
perhaps there will be a worthy opponent for the Pats in the superbowl after the glorious victory over KC in the AFC Chanpionship game after all.
