I just realized that Enforcer Talen seems to have disappeared for at least a month, probably more.

Where is he? I miss him.

I'd noticed that the amount of cleaning up in SLAM I had to do had decreased recently. This must be why.

Yeah, he left October 6th, comes back December 30th. Man, i miss him...can't wait till he gets back.

ET is currently at the Parris Island Marine Corp Recruit Depot in South Carolina. Boot camp for Marines last 12 weeks so he is expected to graduate sometime in early January. However, it is entirely possible that we will not hear from him until much later because of personal constraints due to whatever more advanced specialized training he will be in following graduation. If he does make posts again, they will probably be of less frequency that before.

Didn't Evil Sadistic Bastard leave for similar reasons around this time last year?

I can't wait until he returns as well.

he will get ten days leave between boot and MOS schools. Unless he requests otherwise, but that is very rare. IIRC from my own experience he should be finishing up with the rifle range and moving to third phase.... but they did restructure bootcamp since I went back in '96 but either way it is about that time they would be coming back from rifle qualification, possibly the crucible.

Should be a seven day mess or workweek in there too. I spent mine gardening in the Generals yard, but most do KP duty. All in all it should be 13 weeks. Plus, when he does graduate, his first urge will probably be more sexual than SDnet.

Well, he might PM Zaia first but as for the rest of us.....we're probably down the priority list a bit.

For the seven days of mess or work detail do you mean before he graduates from boot or when he goes to MOS school? There is one in boot, but it is included in the 12 weeks. Females go for 13 weeks because they don't go to MCT with the rest of the pogues. As for the mess or work detail before MCT or SOI, I was lucky enough to avoid that by getting there on the day the next class picked up

Hmm. Must have changed it since 91. Go figure. Used to be 13 weeks, 12 boot and 1 mess week which was between 2nd and 3rd phase.

We used to have another mess week after MCT but before your A school. As I understand it, infantry doesn't have to go to MCT anymore but I bet they still have a mess week.

I guess they did change it, the mess week was the week before we graduated when I went through in '96. Then it was at the end of 3rd phase. They retooled boot again in '97 when they added the 'Crucible' and from what I heard they no longer had three phases, it was made into two phases somehow.

Infantry just goes to the School Of Infantry (SOI)now and only people that are not 03's go to MCT. IIRC MCT was 3 or 4 weeks while SOI is more like 8 or 9 weeks.
