Favorite Twist Ending in a Movie

Well I can't think of just one, so I'll give five.

(In no particular order)

1. The Usual Suspects (I was not expecting that at all)
2. Arlington Road (When I first watched the end I said 'No fucking way')
3. Unbreakable (It hit me like a sack of bricks)
4. Fight Club (well, when I read the book I was quite surprised)
5. The Empire Strikes Back (when I was 5 this was the awesomest thing ever)

So what ending really floored you?

I'd have to say Fight Club.

12 Monkeys too.

I watched fight club up to the part where they do the smilely face in the building, then I had to leave(I was at a friends house). I was pretty unimpressed by it. Took a year before they were able to get me to watch it through again. HOLY SHIT! I'm glad I did, I never saw that coming. Thats the one killing thing for movies, I almost always know whats going to happen, 6th Sense I knew Bruce was dead(thanks mom), I grew up knowing Luke and Leia were related and were the children of Darth Vader, it's not often that I don't know or figure out a twist before it happens.

Not quite a twist ending but I always liked the ending to Chasing Amy. I liked it especially since it didn't pull the punch of it one bit and it was every bit the friendly disaster it should have been.

Some cunt ruined fight club for me.

Donnie Darko was a bit of a mind job ending.
Se7en, while still a kick ass movie, kinda hinted at it and made it less of a surprise.
Blair Witch 2, was shite, but kind've a weird ending, although I guess it shoulda been expected with all the screwing around with cameras amd stuff.
Wild Things, that was kind've unexpected.
Matrix Reloaded, I knew it would be kinda fucked up, but not that fucked up.

There's more, I juat can't think of 'em.

1.) Unbreakable
2.) The Usual Suspects
3.) Signs
4.) Arlington Road
5.) Vanilla Sky (except I saw it a mile off)

EDIT:
There's a movie (that might have been straight-to-video) called "Timerider: the Adventure of Lyle Swann." It's kind of silly, but fun. And it gives away its own time-twisting surprise ending pretty obviously.

Ack, I can't believe I forgot Donnie Darko! That movie had a great ending.

I should mention Memento's ending, which should be nominated for best beginning. :P

Nor I. I remember my jaws dropped and I just stared at the screen in disbelief, and all the clues were there from the beginning. Masterful storytelling.
The Penultimate Ninja wrote:2. Arlington Road (When I first watched the end I said 'No fucking way')
Haven't seen it. I don't even know what the hell this movie is about.
The Penultimate Ninja wrote:3. Unbreakable (It hit me like a sack of bricks)
I liked that film.
The Penultimate Ninja wrote:4. Fight Club (well, when I read the book I was quite surprised)
The ending to this film had me laughing my arse off.
The Penultimate Ninja wrote:5. The Empire Strikes Back (when I was 5 this was the awesomest thing ever)
Agreed.

Others include:

"The Fallen" A supernatural thriller with Denzel Washington playing a police detective who's tracking down a demon who can switch bodies. Think about it...

"12 Monkeys" I kinda liked this film, it was certainly an interesting sci-fi flick.

"Matrix: Reloaded" Whatever you may think of this movie, the twist at the end does explain a lot (like why Zion is a shit hole). :o :?

"Terminator 3" Deserves a mention as the entire outcome of the character's actions are set to prevent the nukes from being launched, and they fail. Miserably.

I can't think of any other films right now...

The sixth sense really screwed with my head, personally. I totally didn't pick up on the fact that *EDIT SPOILERS*

Personally i saw the Sixth Sense one coming a mile off. The unbreakable one i worked out about 5 mins before it was revealed. I love that movie.

The Sixth Sense was good, but it wasn't hard to see coming.

The one that I swear had me lost till the end was The Game. That one was really coming from all directions.

Ahh! The Game! What a Great movie! I totally forgot about that one....I guess I should mention that, although not TOO much of a twist, Mean Guns kinda threw me a curveball...

___________EDIT______________________________________________

Of course, when I watch a movie, usually my IQ drops about 100 points and I turn into a drooling vegetable for two hours, mesmerized by Pretty explosions. If I watch a movie two or three times, I tend to pay more attention (Mean Guns is a perfect example. I turned it on skinemax one night, expecting some stupid, cheesy, B movie. Instead what I got was Connor McLeod and Ice cube on a murderous rampage in a new prison complete with chick fights, big guns, twists, suspense, and baseball bats.)

Jacob's Ladder

Wild Things -- the stuff that runs over the credits makes the movie pretty good. Otherwise it's kind of meh with Denise Richards looking hot.

In no particular order; 6th Sense, the Usual Suspects, TESB (although I was too young at the time to properly gauge my reaction vis-a-vis Sense and Suspects)...

House Of Games will keep kicking the crap out of you with all its plot twists, especially the ending.

And Fat Tony is in it!

The end of Basic Instinct is pretty good. Just who is or was the wack job killer? :?

On the lame twist ending front. Color of Night has to be one of the worst. Jade has a decent twist but it's a crappy movie anyway.

Matchstick Men... the last 10 minutes change the meaning of the entire movie before that.

And here's the obligatory Anime entry.

I've never seen it, but the sending to a series called Triton of the Sea was pretty fucked up.

The story was pretty par for the course for a kids' action anime at the time, An aquaman-type lad named Triton with a magical knife swims the seas, battling a foe known as the Posiedons, hell-bent on destroying him. Then our hero finally destroys the leader of the Posiedons, and learns the truth.

Triton's people were horrible monsters, sacrificing the helpless Posiedons to their god, until it took pity on the Posiedons, giving them the power to finally defeat the Tritons and win their freedon. And Triton, the last of his kind, finally finished the job. Naturally this was a rather large gutpunch to japanese kids at he time, who had been cheering Triton on throughout the series, only to find out he was essentially the villian.

Usual Suspects was rocking!

Bit pissed off with Unbreakable because a friend spoiled it for me but i didn't realise at the time.
