Damn, it's been like two years since the last time.. but I went with a friend tonight and I quickly regained my old average of 160-70, and then perfected my curve by the end of night, though the last game was incomplete because they shut if off.. I had my system down that I was getting ridiculous amounts of strikes..

At my Company Christmas party, I bowled a few games against one of my soldiers. I beat her twice, while she won one game. Then again, the highest score from either of us was 84. I tend to bowl better when I've a little alcohol in me, which doesn't make much sense. However, little time presents itself for me to bowl, and since my wife doesn't really like bowling, it's rare that I hit the lanes...

Whenever I can, and I suck at it, the only consistent method for getting a score of 120 plus (I suck, I know) involves a sort of flipping it off the tips of my fingers, which starts to hurt after a while, although it means that the ball glides, not spins. So if I get it straight then high scores result.

Normal balls: Large holed 10 and large holed 16. Your actual mileage may vary.

I bowl when I can, my usual score is 120-150. I do suck somewhat.

I've bowled before. And I've had a problem. And it happens so many freakin times.


The problem is that I knock down every single pin except one. And then I have such a hard time hitting that one last pin.

Last time I bowled I had one beer to many before getting started. The first ball I threw succedded in jumping lanes... Sorta enbaresing.

Undaunted(sp?) I attempted again dropped the ball behind me and just missing my pals legs.

I took the hint and gave up at that stage.

The guys i used to go with got banned. We used to go every friday after school. The problem was the one of the guys followed through all the time and he actually caused a dent to form in one alley. The manager came out and started on him and we backed our friend up so we where all banned.

Classic bowling moments:

Experimenting with new styles: For an entire night's bowling, my newest tactic to get speed on the ball involved a bizarre arrangement of the feet that resulted in me ending sitting flat on my arse, much to the amusement of the surrounding lanes.

Birthdays: Mass plastic lightsaber fights across a virtually empty bowling alley, 2 on 1 TPM style duels in a 30 lane bowling alley with two lanes in use, one by us and one by a group of old people who were pissing themselves laughing.

oh man.... 1st time i went bowling for a few years... i did crap...

my average is around 70-100 usually

I've done it a few times, and when I do, I'm lucky if I score over 50.

I have not bowled in a long time, but I do enjoy it. It was easier to bowl when I worked in an environment with lots of young folk. ( 16-21 yrs old )

I have a nice 16lb ball somewhere around the house. I always have trouble finding a ball that fits my hands.

Try Duckpin sometime, adds fun to have a third ball every frame.

I have a nice red 16-pounder that looks like Planet Jupiter too. I fished it out of a really juicy trash pile three years ago (LONG LIVE DUMPSTER DIVING!!!!1) that I got a shitload of other nice stuff out of.

Ditto, I suck at it, but I love it.

I used to work at a bowling alley, and it was amazing just how bad some people actually are. There were multiple incidents where ceiling tiles were damaged because people tried to fling the balls down the lane and didn't manage to release the ball until their arm was over their head.

As for me, I suck. I'm either throwing strikes or gutterballs--no consistency at all.

I think I made 130 once. I've only gone bowling three times, and it takes me a while to warm up. But by the end of the second game, the fingers are starting to hurt. If I took the second half of my first game and the first half of my second, I'd probably be about 150.

average......150 dunno what freakish luck i had that one time but i think i've broke 200 a total of 2 times i think

If your finger hurts, try this method. Only put your two middle digits into the ball leaving your thumb out. Cradle the ball against your forearm and then pull your arm back and when you shoot it out to release add a huge almost 180 flick to your wrist. Also, when you toss the ball, aim for the right if you're right handed, so the ball upon landing will hit near the right gutter. If done properly you should see the ball curve straight in for the side-center.. a good potential strike
