Well the Apache has missiles but the shark's coloring would make it hard to spot.

This question has been asked before, and the answer is it depends entirely on who you are and what you want to do with your helicopters.

Well the Apache has missiles but the shark's coloring would make it hard to spot.
That is the stupidest comparison of military equipment I've seen this week

That's because you think I actually knew what a "Black Shark" is.

It can also depend on which variant of the Apache you are referring to.

Well, a shark is a tireless killing machine of the sea, but an Apache can fashion tools. I give it to the apache.

The Ka-50/52 series has some pretty radical differences between its variants as well.

But then you'd have to consider where they are. If they are in the ocean, hands down (or in this case, dismembered) to the shark. If they are on land, Apache with ease. If they're in space, both lose. If they are on a beach-area, it would be a pretty even match.

It all depends on what type of shark we're talking about. I'm assuming that the "black" is a reference to the color and not some obscure breed. I think that the apache wins in all but pure ocean envinronments (he can run away on the beach and throw rocks at the shark).

By "beach" I meant where it's about 4 ft deep.

What size shark are you talking about? Not many can get that close.

the black coloring pretty much eliminates larger species such as the Great White, so maybe a young Maco shark.

Maybe it's painted black. And where are the subjects positioned when the fight begins?

about 50 m away from eachother in a equal-depth area, 25 m or so away from shallower areas.

In deeper water, it doesn't matter. The shark wins. But in the shallow water, the apache can win if he heads for the beach as soon as possible. He has no chance while he's in the water; the shark's skin alone can tear him up.

It entirely depends on the terrain. The Apache, I don't care how good a swimmer he is, is going to lose in deep water. If a shark suddenly appears in the middle of the Great Plains, its capacity for movement is nil, as is its life expectancy. Provided this Apache can run in a straight line, he'll be fine. :D

not so! See, I quoted the original "shark" post in my message, so I'm only adding (pure & pressurized hydrogen) fuel to the fire.

Cut the crap you shark vs indian people.

A)Assume a Ka-50 and a Longbow appache are loaded for air to air and have piolets of equal skill. Which one wins?
B)Assume the same scenario except now loaded for air to ground and the challenge is to destroy the most T-60 tanks scattered around a large plain.
C)Same 2 scenarios but with a Ka-52 and a Longbow.
D)Same 2 scenarios but with a Ka-52 and a Regular Apache.
E)Same 2 scenarios but with a Ka-50 and a Regular Apache.
Who wins each?

A) Oh please, that's just not fair.

B) Hmmm, this could be close. I'm going to have to go with the Ka-50 because of its superior refire rate.

C)
-1) Fairer to the Russians, but they still lose.
-2) Ka-52 all the way.

D)
-1) Bye bye, Apache. The Longbow upgrades gave it its edge, really.
-2) Ka-52 by a long shot.

E)
-1) It's all about the plustwoage for the Russians, so the Apache wins this one.
-2) Ditto, Apache carries it.
