Personnels.

OK, I admit it, I am down on my luck with females here recently, and I have started looking at the personal to see whats out there. I broke up with my girlfriend near thanksgiving, and have been down on my luck ever since. I noticed that I am being a very picky while going through them (I have not and will not pay for an account). If I met most of these females in real life I would not be nearly as picky, I would give them if nothing else the benefit of the doubt. Just a strange note on the psychology of using the internet vs real life.

Wow, people have generally thrown all sorts of expectations out the window when looking at the personals, nice to see you keep up hope by holding out for that gorgeous nordic beauty appearing on Lavalife.

Looking in the personals or using these phone line crap, are just like buying used goods, you know someone else have been in before and probably left some nasty stuff in.

Except by and large used goods are less expensive than new ones. Here you have to contend with all sorts of past SOs, and that takes money.

The tthoughts that just ran through my mind...Of course, it makes me think what 'I' may have left behind
Seriously man, just go out and have a good time. You'll be surprised at who you might meet.

I'll give you a stranger note. My wife was IM'ing me on AOL (1999) while I was trying to break up with an old girlfriend. I had moved on to a new assignment, leaving said old girlfriend behind, when she who would later become my wife began hitting on me via IM. Lesson available: Dismiss not those you meet in cyberspace, for your spouse they might become...

Good advice
I met my current girlfriend at Yahoo personals back in late September.
Had our first date in early November and its been bliss ever since
My closest friend down here met his current wife thru the internet personals.
Granted its not for everyone (what setting is) But it worked for me.

I find that on the Net people are usualy more honest. Of course you'll always get some lying cunts, but on the whole i've found relationships i've started via the Internet where better than my RL ones. I think this is because the relationship didn't happen just because of physical appearance.

That's true, when you remove physical appearence you generally find that people are more honest about themselves. Its also easier when you have no mutual friends with the person, because you're not afraid of bad (yet honest) things you've said getting back to you.
