Look up this title: Colorful.

The tagline of this show reads as follows:

"Roses are red
Violets are blue
This show's about panties."

This anime is pure fanservice. Panties and cleavage and panties and cleavage left, right and center. There is no plot. It is a series of short and really fucking hilarious vignettes. I think I sprained myself laughing at this one...

I'm going with Dalton on this one. I picked up a copy of Colorful a few weeks ago and it's a blast! I'm still looking for a copy of the intro song!!

Oh, after watching Colorful, you'll be able to pronounce your L's and R's properly.

If you want a somewhat similar anime, pure comedy and fanservice, you could also check out Guardian Hearts. It has magical girls, but really all fanservice. :D

Fanservice and hentai aren't the same thing.

Do an adult search on alta vista and look in the anime section.

You're a fan of Beaker. What the fuck's up with that? He doesn't say anything but "meep".

Different strokes for different folks.

Any suggestions for someone that really isn't into anime, but doesn't mind it every now and then?

i could probably think of a ton of stuff. though i'd recommend starting another thread for it. ;)

anyways, few suggestions:

Wings of Honneamise
Gunsmith Cats: Bulletproof
Twilight of the Dark Master
Blue Seed
InuYasha
Mobile Suit Gundam
Macross Plus: The Movie
Devil Hunter Yohko (series, 6 tapes)
Grave of the Fireflies

these cover a variety of genres & types, so there should be at least one thing there someone would like.

Golden Boy. It's about a perverted loser who hits on women and keeps getting his ass kicked.

Depends, although here are a few that stray from the anime norm that I like to show my non-Otaku friends.

Serial Experiments Lain: A very surreal anime about a girl who's world is not what it seems. To describe any more would be an exercise in frustration. Suffice to say, it is a brilliant anime but it is a little slow in some places for those who don't like extremely atmospheric, surreal entertainment. This one has a very good dub, so feel free to watch in English.

Perfect Blue: A Hitchcock movie that is animated. Seriously, if Hitchcock was alive today, he would have been drooling over this extremely well produced film that will creep you out to your very core. This one has a passable dub, which shouldn't offend.

Princess Mononoke: An epic movie by one of the greatest anime giants in Japan. It is a story of mankind versus nature. One of the best aspects of this film is its incredible production quality combined with a story that has no good or evil characters, just people with different priorities and motivations. I would also recommend just about any Studio Ghibli film, although this is the one that would most appeal to non-Otaku adults. The dub has been criticized heavily, but it is decent enough.

Grave of the Fireflies: This movie is on Roger Ebert’s Greatest Films list for a reason. It is the story of two children during World War II that have lost their parents and are struggling to survive. Please note that while this is an excellent film, it is extremely sad and WILL make you cry. This one has a terrible dub and MUST be watched in its original Japanese in order to feel the full impact.

Vision of Escaflowne: A series that is a little more towards the mainstream anime, but is an excellent example of what most people like about the genre. Escaflowne is a story of a girl named Hitomi who gets taken from her normal life away to a world called Gaia that is engulfed in conflict. A sweeping storyline and outstanding characters make this a favorite of mine. Please note, a movie was made of the series which should be avoided like the plague as it contains absolutely NONE of what made the series so great. The dub sucks, so avoid it.

Slayers: It's silly, it's stupid and it's funny as hell. This is fantasy comedy anime at its finest. Look at the series Slayers Next for the best example of this. Warning, do NOT watch the dub, it is totally unfunny and lame.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: This is an old favorite of many people and for good reason. An excellent series (if someone unnerving) that combines action with a story seeped in Christian mythology. A lot of people don't like the dub, but it is passable, if sub-standard.

well ones about T&A shots and low humour, and mostly panties

the other is about rape and mutilation, can you tell the difference?

there's a fine line between fan service and hentai, though stuff like LA Blue Girl and Angel of Darkness are obviously geared for the hentai audience. fan-servicey ones might not be aimed at quite such a group, though pretty damned close sometimes.
