Who's Your Favorite Trek Novelist?
Do you/have you read Trek novels? Who was or is your favorite Trek author? Which Trek author would you like to see write for the filmed incarnations of Trek? If one Trek novel were declared canon by Viacom, which one would you like it to be?

Oh my god. I had no idea that Peter David wrote Trek novels (honestly!). My respect for him just went down two and a half notches.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Seriously - he's good. Really good.Robert Treder wrote:Oh my god. I had no idea that Peter David wrote Trek novels (honestly!). My respect for him just went down two and a half notches.
He managed to frame a story around Ensign Sulu (who had about a minute-and-a-half of screen time) and Captain "Jackass" Harriman of the Enterprise B - and actually make it work. That's skill for ya.

Eh... I had about a dozen ST books a few years ago. But I never liked any of them enough to keep so I took them to a use book store and got store credit to buy Clancy Books. The only sci-fi authors I have read and enjoy for a series are Stackpole, Aliston, and Zhan. And those are all for SW novels of course.
I might have been more interested in the ST books had the followed the same rules and guidlines that the SW books had.

Nope, I hate modern Trek and I refuse to support it in anyway. Until B&B are gone I won't touch any bit of modern Trek with a ten foot pole. Cash is the only thing the idiots at Paramount understand so I'll send them a message the only way I can.Raoul Duke, Jr. wrote:Trust me -- Peter David makes Trek worth reading. It's a matter of principle. I'll settle for just the Centauri Trilgoy for now.Raoul Duke, Jr. wrote:Fine by me, but you're missing out...Stormbringer wrote:Nope, I hate modern Trek and I refuse to support it in anyway.
