In summary, media screwed over penny arcade. Media fucktards. Read.

Let me see if I understood that correctly:
The media reported that the Penny Arcade gifts were given by a Catholic School and then undervalued the donation by a factor of around 200.

That's what I got from the front page, and I can't understand how they could so very very wrong. My best guess for a Penny Arcade's course of action would be to write a letter requesting an official correction by the news channel, and perhaps some letters to local newspapers. They don't have to stand for getting fucked that badly.

And once again, we get a spectacular demonstration of just why 'Unbiased' and 'Big Media' will never be in the same sentence except ones like this.

Wow, that doesn't really surprise me. Not the media in generally, but that anti-GTA asshole was out to scalp some heads. The media responsible will never admit real mistakes, I have the same kind of bastards at the local station. They pander to Creationists, Fundamentalism, and Homophobia; and they're the damn CBS affliates!

Nothing new. When I was in grade five, I wrote an essay for school about media sensationalist tactics with regard to nuclear power safety. The only mystery is why people trust the media to fairly report anything which is remotely political in nature.

At least there were some reports done while the fundraising was still going on, with ACCURATE figures...

There's probably a hidden motive. Nobody mistakes people like them for a catholic school and reports their gifts as costing far, far less than they actally were and lets them into print without having some motive for doing so.

I say they should write letters to that paper, and others about the incident, perhaps publicly clear things up.

Ugh, thats just sickening. My friend showed me child's play a few weeks ago, and it was such a wonderful thing. It was heartwarming to see all these donations being given to kids that deserve them, and what will the rest of the world know? That some Catholic School donated them? What the damn fuck, the pain, it burns

that article (the NY Times one) is simply pathetic. half of the claims they make in it could be refuted with almost no effort whatsoever. you'd think they'd at least have put some effort into making their inane ranting seem intelligent.

I've seriously considered emailing the person that wrote the news article and challenging his comments, I still might. I am getting so fucking sick of people always trying to pass blame, no it's not possible that those two kids were just simply fucked up? Argh responsibility has no meaning in this world anymore.......

If I remember correctly, under American law, they would have to prove that the people that wrote the article had an intent to harm.
