meh, they just anounce the winner and she had nothing to do with the other 'supposed' ticket. Seems that the 'lost' ticket is a non-issue.

And even if she does find the ticket, both people still get at least ~30 million.

"My ticket was lost. I do recall all the numbers. They are all somehow family related. No one can tell me what I did and did not play. I did it honestly and I have no doubt," Battle told The Associated Press at the office of her attorney, Sheldon Starke.
And she expects people to take her word on this? You don't just claim you had the ticket and lost it, despite having no evidence. If I was scamming the people, I would certainly memorise the numbers as well.
Jemison provided another lottery ticket purchased at the same time and location and had a lottery ticket that showed she had played the same numbers in the prior drawing, Kennedy said.
As far as I'm concerned, that's pretty solid evidence. This Battle lady shouldn't get a dime, unless she also has evidence that she bought this lotto ticket.

This is all I've been hearing about, it's actually a couple miles from my city.

The whole thing does seem to begger belief. Especially given that Jemison could show evidence of having played the same numbers & bought a ticket from the same store before. Mind you, the whole saga sounds like it should be worth watching.
Bwah-ha-ha

HA! The Smoking Gun digs up the dirt on that stupid moron who "lost" the winning lottery ticket. Turns out she's just an attention whore with fraud and assault convictions. Goddamn, sometimes people are just so fucking stupid.

The assault convictions mean little- but the fraud conviction is telling. What a circus.

That and the story of how she supposedly picked the numbers doesn't jibe.

The claims of the other woman are totally without merit.
Lottery tickets are bearer notes, which means whomever turns them in is entitled to the winnings. So even if her story is true, unless they can prove Jemison consciously stole the ticket from Battle, the money is Jemison's.
The woman claims she dropped her purse and the ticket fell out. What about the receipt? Jemison had her receipt. So this woman didn't notice she'd dropped both the ticket and the receipt? She kept them together? Stupid is as stupid does.
This Battle woman is a fraud and she must think the Ohio state lottery is run by morons. She'll get nothing but legal fees, and possibly 30 days in jail for filing a false police affidavit.

This isn't possible, since only one winning ticket was sold. The lottery computers keep track of all the tickets sold, and once the numbers are drawn, they know right away how many winning tickets there are and where they were sold. So Jemison has the only winning ticket. For Battle's story to be true, Jemison would have to have either counterfeited a ticket (and receipt showing the correct time of purchase) or found both Battle's ticket and receipt.
So Battle is essentially accusing Jemison of being a liar, one way or another.

The stupid bitch has admitted she was lying out of her ass, it's all over the morning papers here today. According to the article she did it to make her kids and family happy or some other shit like that, I bet they'll really thank her now.

Boy, I didn't see that coming a mile away.
Are we supposed to be pittying this woman for trying to defraud the lottery for millions of dollars? I say let's charge her with grand larceny and send her to prison for the next decade. People shouldn't get the idea that they can pull frivalous claims like this and not expect retribution.

I wish there was a book to throw at the bitch, but it seems that the worst they can give her is a MISDEMEANOR.
