"Clerks" Question

Post by HemlockGrey »

Who the hell is that guy who's standing in the center of the Chapter Selection screen in the DVD? He's also on the DVD box, but I can't find him in the film.

Trenchcoat, short hair, I think a goatee. It's not Dante.

No, it's not Silent Bob. He's thinner.

What the hell? That looks nothing like Kevin Smith. What actor is it?

It actually does, if you make KS thinner. A bit of photgraphic manipulation, some stroking of the director's ego, and voila! One thinned fat-guy. Besides, KS's robust frame is blocked by Dante anyway. All you see is his face and shoulders.

His hair and his beard look different. That's weird.

It's almost 10 years old so it ought to be.

Actually, a little more than that now. And Kevin Smith was also in a bit better shape too.

It was this film that turned Smith into a 2 pack a day smoker.

Also, Kevin Smith gained a lot of weight during the shoot, since he basicalluy slept and lived at the Quick Stop during the shooting of "Clerks."

He's also said that they weren't allowed to put Jason Mewes' picture on the video cover because mewes was deemed too "disturbing" looking!
