34 is not old. It was old in 1600s, but not anymore.
More importantly, Happy Birthday!

34 isn't old, but may you enjoy the privilege to be called SIR by snot-faced punks at the cash at McDonalds nonetheless.
It won't be long now...middle aged SD.net members...dare you to visualize the terror when we all start wearing leather caps, take up skydiving, and buy porsche convertibles.

Ya know, one of these days I'm going to show you what happens when a man comes from a long line of Mr. Clean lookalikes.
Eventually, you give up on the long lionesque mane you had in high school and get a No. 3 shave cut, because anything longer looks like you're trying to get a comb-over length, and that just insults the intelligence of everyone shorter than you.
I actually went through a period in university where I figured that at my height, no one could NOTICE that I was balding on top because they couldn't physically see up there if I was standing. You can imagine to what idiotic lengths I went to to be taller than people at all times. Then came the 'hat' phase, and finally, the No. 3 Shave Please phase (after that comes the Realization Of the Massive Double Standard Where Balding-yet-Otherwise-Hairy Older Men Like Patrick Stewart and Sean Connery are Major Hunks O'Sex Symbol, but Women Are Considered Over The Hill At 30 phase, where I am now).

Let me know if you still feel ancient at 43.
That is my age, and I still feel young. The prostate is telling me different, and so are my joints.!
I think the Bear might feel ancient more to bad health, than age. (I understand he has many long term problems, that a man could expect not to have for twenty more years than his calender age.) My younger brother is 5 years behind me, yet folks meeting us think he is 10 years older, due to balding and diabetes.(and all that comes with diabetes)No one in our family has dies of natural causes at an age less than 83, but he looks to be the first one.
I realy wonder about the youth culture. It wasn't until recent times when "teenager" was started as a concept. Before that, there were merely children, and adults. At 15 you were a young adult, but still an adult. You were treated and acted accordingly.
Thanks to the advertising industry, young is cool.It started in the 50s, opening the teen market, which didn't exsist prior.
The funny part is as the baby boomers are aging, rather than redefine "cool," they are redefining "Young!"
The Roling Stones are a pathetic example. Senior citizen rock stars. With a crowd of head in the sanders in the audience. Anyone claiming to like the music is lying, as the Stones always suck live. It is about reliving their youth.
Bottom line, being old isn't cool, so don't change cool, stay young!

Hey you're only 3 years older than my brother...
Just something to make you feel a bit younger.
Happy Birthday. And people aren't old until they're over the hill with the big 5 0.

I thought you were considered "over the hill" at forty...
Andyway, happy birthday. When you think about it, whether or not you're considered old at a certain age can depend on what you're doing.

I will be 33 in April. Where does the time go? I remember walking to the playground near the Filipino Old Folks home, buying candy from the "Chinese Store" and spinning around on the merry go round till I was sick. That was in 1984.
Happy Birthday Colin. I will ski down a Black Diamond tomorrow in honor of your mountain home.
