Proof I spend too much time here.

Okay, I would like to work this out mathematically.
I have been here since November 22, 2002. I have made a total of 6209 posts (including this one), with an average of 15.03 posts a day.
Meanwhile, on the two message boards I have been on the longest, and still frequent...
One, I joined June 22, 2002, and I have 2228 posts, average of 3.98 posts per day. The other, I have been at since January 27, 2001, and have 2851 posts, an average of 2.46 posts a day.
Both of these boards total, I only have 5079 posts total. Together, I have only made a total of 2.95 posts a day.
All this makes me feel like I spend too much time here.

Yeah, I feel the same way. No other board has quite the personality.

Me too. I feel SD.net is a unique place. It is the only message board I regularly post at.

After being here for a year and a half, I really don't know how I wasted my free time before. It must be the people here.

I have better friends through SDN than I do in RL. That's sad, but true.

Alternatively, it might be the fact that people don't censor themselves too much since we have very few (if any) "rules of decorum", so you get to know people more than you would with stricter rules in place.

i've made alot more posts here than at other message boards myself. over on sluggy's message board i've got more posts than i do here, around 700 something, but i've been there since august '03. Compared to here, where i've already nearly got that number and have only been on since november. another forum i go to i have a measly 73 posts and have been signed up there for a few months. if it's anything of an indication i expect to have roughly 2500 here in the next 6 months. . . . .give or take. not that i'm shooting for a goal or anything like that, just an estimate.

I have an ezboard account and while I only check one on a daily basis, I had two that I kept up with for a long while, I only have a totaly of 400 some odd posts. We're talking several years here. While SD.net I was hitting the 2500 mark in less than a year.

I certainly feel like I spend too much time here. But then I think, "What else could I be doing?" And I can't think of anything. At least this place is educational.

Sd.Net-Well, you can see my postcount fer yourselves.
SB-I think it's two hundred and twenty something...
Dreamcaps Forums- 111 posts, and the only other place I check on daily.
Aerodrome Forums- Fifty something...
Modelwarships.com- 24 posts.
And other forums with no more than a dozen or so...
It's obvious where my preferance lies.

This place rox0rz, but the other board i regularly visit, bbspot (gasp!), i have 16posts/day. They suffer at my spamming hands, which i refrain from doing here for fear of retribution from the mods.

I admit, this board is by far the best I've ever visited, but it doesn't change the fact that you tell anyone that you're a member of a ST vs. SW board and they roll their eyes at your geekness.

Yes, but if your friends are all geeks anyway, then an @sd.net email address is actually a status symbol.

There is the whole not censoring bit and amazingly few outright pointless flamewars(yeah we have them but the percentage is low).
That and for me I don't feel like I'm talking to 2000 fifteen year olds who don't grasp simple concepts like logic.

Don't forget the cool chicks! Where else can you discuss sex and fetishes with chicks and not get flamed and banned?

SD.Net is where I spend a good part of my day being entertained. I don't post anywhere near as often on other boards, though lately things have slowed down on TGU because most of them are gearing up to do HW2 modding.

Ah, the diversity of people here. That might be it.
Plus that whole Aura of Evil™ thing.

And in your case not being molested by two of them

This is the only board I hang around. I used to hang around SpaceBattles before, and I updated my profile there recently.
But given my time restrictions, I stick to this board. Particularily since I feel is has a lot of intelligent members whom I can learn from.

I have about the same number of posts on 2 other boards as i do here, i've been to both of them for months before i came here. Do the meth er em math.

(points at post count)
Its obvious that I treat SD.net like home. Its one of only two messages boards I frequent commonly. At SB.com I have 20,000 posts. On boards that I frequent I tend to average 5k a year, although I did 10k in a 12 month span at SB once. That covered a period of time I spent little time there.
Anyway SD.net and SB.com tend to get equal time from me. Other then those two boards I stop by SCN on ocassion. I post at some other boards, but its on rare occassion.

Here at SD.net I have just under .7% of the total posts. At SB.com with about a thousand members (some part time) who are reasonably active, I have 1.6% of the total posts. Thats 20k out of 1.3 million posts.
Although I have to hand it to Mike and Skimmer. It took me three and a half years to reach 20k. Skimmer did it in less then two and Mike is soon to do the same.

Y'know, I tried to go over to TrekBBS once, not to talk ST vs SW or anything, just to be there....
AND IT SUCKED ASS.
I have only 110 posts there (and a badass Sam Jackson AV), and don't plan on visiting ever again.
There's nothing quite like SDN, I will tell you this for sure. Why, it must be the community--they say that in commercials for resturaunts, "Yeah, folks come back to McDonalds because of the
people ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
"--cause all the people here are one of a kind.

It's a sad thing, but I found out that whenever I have Internet access somewhere, I surf SD.net. A fact which slowed down the progress in a programming project by quite a bit
