Well, we've had our Classical selections, so what's the rock selections?
I myself am a fan of Green Day and Weezer, old Creed (My Own Prison), Matchbox 20, Red Hot Chili Peppers, more music along those lines, with the occasional classic rock pieces (some Eagles, Steppenwolf, the Stones, mid-early Beetles).

First off, the Beatles have an 'a.'
Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Cindy Lauper are all good classics..
Hard rock I might recommend Disturbed, Staind, old KoRn, Tool, and System of a Down.
For softer rock.. I dunno, exactly. It's too often fused with pop these days to make a good decision on that.

Those all get my blood going like a good rock band should.
Stone Temple Pilots
Pear Jam
Areosmith

Those are just fun groups to listen too.

My musical tastes vary, mostly depending on my mood.
As far as rock goes, I really dig what I call power pop. That's music with Beatle-esque harmonies coupled with roaring guitars. Is there an "official" name for that style?
For example:
Weezer, Matthew Sweet, Fountains of Wayne, The Darkness, Spacehog, STP (to a certain degree), etc.
I also love Classic Rock...bands like:
Boston, CCR, Led Zeppelin, ELO, The Knack, Cheap Trick, etc.
When I'm feeling aggressive it's always:
Rob Zombie/White Zombie, old school Metallica (first 4 albums), Slayer, Iron Maiden, etc.

Plus AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Queen (well, I like 'em anyways!), Bob Dylan, and Boston, just to name a few. That's real rock 'n' roll fellas.

E Nomine would be more industrial techno than rock, IMO.
KMFDM... sometimes they are rock.. depends on the song. Eg, "Megalomaniac" and "Godlike."
How did I forget Godsmack? HOW HOW HOW???
Also, The Cranberries, Joan Osbourne, Four Non-Blondes (so they're a one-hit wonder.. big deal..)

Also there's "The Who" damn kickass working class punks.
The Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop" is our new closing theme.
The Clash, etc
also we can't forget the immortal classics, like the holy trio that fell from heaven in 1958....

U2, of course. Achtung Baby would probably be a good start, some people are a bit turned off by the self-righteousness and spirituality of The Joshua Tree.

Old Metallica
AC/DC

Elvis (always will be King), Ozzy, Brian Setzer, AC/DC, CCR, Stone Temple Pilots, REM...
By the way, Red Hot Chili Peppers suck balls live. Their CD's are good, they just don't translate onto stage well...

Bah, Elvis is nothing to the Trinity of Holly, Valens, & The Bopper.
for they fell from heaven onto the cold fields of the midwest brining in 1958, and thus died for all of our Rock and Roll excesses.....

Yeah, they were martyrs... Just remember, though, it took Elvis to get that music into the popular mainstream. He did what they couldn't.

Yeah But Elvis was the first cover poser.....
he did no original work, just coppied other peoples tunes....
Hell he owes his whole career to Willie Dixon's skill as a Song Writer and the Col.'s ability to market. (my grandma loves him, I like the Electric Blues much better)
