I just saw the wankiest movie ever.

"Waking Life"

What the fuck is this shit? Never have I seen such a pretentious, rambling load of pseudo-philosophical shit? It is *nothing* but an endless string of unrelated conversations about everything some stoner philosophy undergraduate has talked about in his entire life. It seemed to use real actors that had been somehow animated, why I don't know (probably to seem more arty).

Has anyone seen this abortion of a movie?

Stopped watching it after 15 minutes and never looked back.

I did last year. It was the last film shown for my Intro to Film Analysis course.

I totally agree that it's nothing but pure Philosophy 101 bullshit. I hated it, and the God damn spastic jerky painted animation style honestly gave me a headache. A movie can't be good when the simple act of LOOKING AT IT hurts your eyes.

I missed the last class, so I couldn't give my opinion on such a worthless film.

Lol, yeah it kinda makes you wonder why it was such a critical success.

I should point out however that the movie does have certain redeeming qualities. Namely, if you happen to be under the influence of mind altering narcotics, it is actually quite entertaining.

If you have to be high to enjoy a movie, its a bad movie.

So can Monster A Go-Go :P

Says a lot when the movie needs external stimuli to be watchable.

Monster a Go-Go is so awful that even its MST3K episode is a little hard to watch.

When I saw this thread title, I thought it was about Matrix Revolutions.

I actually thought it was an interesting film. Its actually fairly boring, and it smacks of the whole hippie-lingo "dude, what if, like, life is a dream and stuff", but the surreal images and unique style held my interest for its 90 minute running time. Wouldnt watch it again though. Maybe if i was stoned.

Sounds like "Matrix: Revolutions," to me.

Edit out the fights and add a continuous supply of nitrous oxide and you'd be right on the mark...

Can you even tell the plot of the damn movie from the comercials?

It's on constantly and I still can't figure out what the hell the movie is supposed to be about.

Fast and The Furious with Cycles?

Nope. The commercials for that were at least more intelligable.

Fast and the Furious had a plot, Torque doesn't appear to have one.

I've seen it. I was so fucking bored, but some of my high school friends wanted to see it, so we watched it.

God, the worst part about it was that some of them thought it was deep and insightful.

I have seen this movie. It was boring and weird , I did not understand anything at all. The animation looked lifelike but ached my eyes sometimes.

Some guy sees a dream where he meets lots of weird people.

It's nothing but the protagonist (a silly looking idiot btw) in some sort of wierd dream land, running into something like 30 verbose, pompous, full-of-shit philosopgy students who just talk for minutes on end about the typical undergraduate philosophy bullshit, while he sits passively and listens. If it had been live-action, instead of rotoscoped animation of live-action, it would have been panned for certain.

Actually, if your brain isn't numbed by boredom some of the ideas presented in it are actually pretty compelling. But you've got to be into that sort of thing to begin with, even if you don't believe them. Such as when the two people are in bed and they are talking about the crossword puzzle and the great collective unconsciousness, then cut directly to the guy ranting in his prison cell about all the horrible things he's going to do to people when he gets his freedom. Oddly enough, I recently recommended the movie to Zaia. If nothing else, it's an interesting movie about existentialism, though that's not exactly the most accessible subject for most people, especially when they so rigidly literal and logical as many people on this board are.

Isn't that the one where some dude rides a cycle on top of a moving train?

Even I, who knows quite a lot about obscure movies, haven't even heard about it before now.
