You. We aren't as stupid as you, so we'll live to our natural lifespan's length
barring accidents, while you will die in a hail of bullets after you tried to rob
a convience store that is NOT 7-11 to keep up your street cred.

The closest I get to Hip Hop is J-Pop and Techno, and I don't follow the "cultures." I just listen to the damn music.

Well, given that there are hundreds of dedicated hip hop labels around the world, thousands of hip hop cultural groups around the country, dozens of professional breakdancing crews with national prestige, hundreds of colleges offering hip hop as part of their music department curriculem, and millions of participants, and countless subjects discussed in the music and in the activist camps of the community, I think your characterization doesn't accurately reflect the culture.

Millions of participants? I'd like to see your data on that, please.

Well because hip hop is a collection of some of the most accessible artforms (graf, emceeing, turntablism, etc.), critics have started calling it a culture (which I prefer to the "movement" label foisted upon it in the early 1990s before the rise of gangsta rap).

The recent search for MTV's reality freestyle battle show brought out somewhere on the order of 100,000 emcees in thirty cities; that's just rappers. We can estimate the size of consumer base using Soundscan data.

Well, you went and did it. You made a post that I cannot interpret one single line of.

When I hear kids talking like that, I have this urge to drag them into a kindergarten class and not let them leave until they can pronounce ALL the basic pronouns, prepositions and articles like the rest of the pre-schoolers.

Fortunately, that's not how the slanguage works.

Ever try going for a job interview with a respectable firm while wearing hip-hop clothes? Ever wonder why you don't get hired? Hip-hop is the culture of people who want to forever pretend that they're kids in the ghetto. People grow out of it.

I'm not much of a hip-hop / rap fan as i find it 1% killer and 99% filler. However i generally find that the 1% are very good pieces of music IMO, for eg. Where is the Love by the Black Eyed Peas which IMO is what Imagine would have sounded like if Lennon was a rapper.

Hip Hop was invented as an additional mean for white American teenagers to further embarass themselves.
