Two days ago I got an email from a customer who said he believe one of this disk drives had failed. After trading a few emails I find out he is in Iraq.
Well, we cant send anything to Iraq because we dont have an export license, even if technically a military camp is US soil. No way the company is going to risk it.
So I worked out a deal where we will send his replacement to Germany, then someone at his parent unit will foward it to Iraq. I also had to bend the regs to get him an replacement cause he could not call us. It was all done via email.
Hehe, so in a small way I helped the US Army keeps some of is computer equipment up and running.
