My wife and sister-in-law were watching the godawful horeshit program known as American Idol last night. Normally i avoid this shit like the plauge, but the first round is so goddamned hillarious i couldn't help myself. Granted some of those auditioning may be actors, but there are so many who are quite obviously suffering from delusions of grandeur. I witnessed the same delightfully entertaining hard doese of reality on the last 2 idols and i even was able to witness the equally satisfying humiliation on Canadian idol back in August. What i cannot understand is this: Don't these people have anyone at home to tell them " For the love of all that is right and holy please do not humiliate yourself on national television!!"? For christs sake, that kid from Hong Kong was a walking tone deaf sterotype trying to sing Elvis. (rise ran ray, ronree rools rush rin!). Sigh.... well i gues there are two more displays of humiliation before i lose intrest in the show again.

Maybe thats what people wants,lets laugh at todays bunch of idiots.

Witness the effects of baseless self esteem! When you have an individual with a high opinion of themselves, based on no signifigant action or achievement, you have a deluded individual. Except to see more of this as the graduates of the "kids need to have self esteem" political/educational programs become older.

Oh, and I must admit, this part of the show IS entertaining.

The novelty of listening to people who can't sing has worn off. I can't watch it at all this year, not that I really watched many of the others. Maybe I'll watch the final or something.

I'm going to stick with quality programming, like "All-Star" Survivor....

They should make that the entire show. Just a full season of all the worst singers they could find.

Nothing will ever top the "Like A Virgin" guy. hehehe Also, the guy who changed his hair and tried to audition like twice or three times and was escorted out by security...

They should just screw the whole bit of finding the best singers and make the show about really bad singers and Simon Cowell making fun of them.

Did they show Simon getting the glass of water to the face? Personally i plan to audition, but only to kick Simon on the balls when he berates me. I forsee a situation something like this:

SC - "Son you can't sing"

Me - "OK fair enough, but i still have both balls"

SC - "So do i, ask my porn star girlfriend"

Me - "Not for much longer"

*BOOT*

I'll then leave to the sound of the other panalists aplauding.

I was flipping the channels last night and only saw two of them (the big dude and Simon, no Paula). What's the deal with that?

I'd like to go up, audition, but instead of singing, launch into a marvelously witty rant utterly destroying the egos of all three panelists and completely smashing the networks once and for all.

That...or detonate a bomb.

No jury in the world would fault me for putting that piece of uppity shite in his place. Pop idol and the very concept of it is an insult to any real singer.

I did see the previews for American Idol after Pop Idol finished here and I have to say, FUCK!

Paula got the flu, or something. The best guy was the one that kept singing after Simon and Randy left- so pathetic (or the girl that was sent to the mall to try and find 10 people who thought she wsa good). Incidentally, if you're tone deaf, you don't know you're singing out of tune, and if people are too afraid to tell you or want to believe you're good then you'll go on tv and make an ass of yourself.

I'd never do it personally because I'm not bad enough to get on TV and not good enough to make it to the next round. Life's funny like that.

Entertaining to watch people with inflated egos being cut down to size. And Simon's sexy.

I used to like watching the no-talents get the what-for from Simon, but even that's getting old now. I have low tolerance for whining, and that's all these idiots do.

And actually, I like it better when Randy goes off on someone. You expect Simon to be brutal and so sometimes it doesn't have as much of an impact as it should, but Randy can really flay an ego.

By the way, is it just me, or has Paula Abdul REALLY hit the wall?

American Idol is quite frankly painful. Being a real singer, I can't stand the brutal incompetence of that pack of idiots that they run through. My dog can sing better.
